100 Winchester #11 magnums for $25...and I though black powder was cheaper.  I guess I should be glad I found them...

Ouch,  last 700 I bought were $15/100 about 3 months ago.
This was in SoCal and I was hesitant about that price.

There's a kit to make #10 caps but I stocked up on caps in the pre panic era so I haven't tried it yet.

The only thing cheap about black powder is the guns.

LGS has #11 CCI primers at $12 per hundred, but man, Musket caps are darn near impossible to find... Went online to GB and bought 10k of them for my smith carbine and they work great, and had a delivered price of 10 c. each. That's the only way I got them, as no one had any at all...

Edit: And of course, I see the post saying that Graf's finally got some in, but at least it is the same price, so I'm not too bummed...

If you can find one of these get it
https://www.dixiegunworks.com/index/page/product/product_id/9716/category/339/category_chain/578,349,339/product_name/RL0805+Tap-O-Cap+Percussion+Cap+Maker

It works and it takes practice to get them made but never 100% reliable
So use cap you make for the range

My lgs had an overstock sale on #11s last weekend.  Picked up 1k for $49.95. Got (4) tins of #10s @ $7.95 ea.

Bitter sweet since that's about all they have for inventory and as of the new year are only open Saturdays.  Small family business been there since i believe the late 30s, and this is their lowest point.

Not a brag post.  Just saying occasionally deals pop up.  Let's hope they become more common and widespread.

The one thing my local Sportsman's Warehouse has tons of and never runs out (and seemingly never sells a single one) are four wing musket caps. IIRC they're $6.99 a tin.

I saw RWS #11 at PV back around September-October, for something like $25-30 per tin of 250, plus shipping/hazmat.
I didn't realize how dire the situation was and wasn't willing to pay that much, even though I had a friend wanting to pay for two tins and half the combined shipping cost. So of course they sold out and AFAIK never came back in stock. I just checked and they're out of stock at $40/tin. I guess I should have bought what I could when they were under $30/tin.

This one's $260 from MidwayUSA, so you can probably find it elsewhere cheaper, but I haven't heard anything really nice about Traditions.

I would take this Pietta 1851 steel frame for $290, however.

Oh nice, I do need to get a BP revolver. I'm on the hunt for a slightly nicer percussion rifle to replace my Traditions Deerhunter and seems like everyone is OOS.

Those days are gone.  You used to be able to get some of the Pietta's on sale at Cabela's for $199 but basspro ruined Cabela's.  Doom on all things basspro and their management.

Oddly enough, I was looking for batteries in a box of them, and found a box of 100 SPP in the bottom, no clue how they got there, but ain't looking THAT gift horse in the mouth!
