After years of procrastinating I finally sent off for my first M1 on Sept 14. I got an email they received my order, gave me a customer number and order number on Sept 19. I just got the email 5 minutes ago my order shipped today and I’m so very excited.

I ordered an RM1SERVICE grade rifle so this will serve a s a placeholder until I receive it to see what the current Service Grades look like.

To me that seems really fast, anyone else get a turn around so soon?

Update SA 44 marked barrel, ME 1+ TE 3

My buddy just received 2 service grades.  Both stocks are dented and banged, but completely serviceable. The one is a bit nicer than the other and is a tad more collectable if someone knew what they were looking for.

It may be because everybody is trying to get $1,000 1911s right now. Nobody is buying Garands, they're all saving their money and keeping their fingers crossed waiting for October 4th and the lottery.

I sent in for the 1911 lottery also. Worked out good for me if nobody is buying Garands. Fed Ex due tomorrow by 10:30 am, can’t wait.

The CMP 1911 Program is completely separate from all other sales.

After the CMP did an awesome job of receiving my order and shipping it fast fed ex with their supposed overnight delivery that was scheduled for yesterday at 10:30 AM made my package sit in Memphis until 3 PM it got to Atlanta at 10:18. They are shortstaffed can’t deliver it today after they called me this morning at 9:30 AM and said they would so now it’s not gonna be delivered till Monday. Their customer service fucking sucks by the way.

That’s hellaciously fast for service grade.  I ordered 2 services earlier this summer and they took about 2 months.

I think what he means is people aren't going to spend a thousand on a Garand  today and $1,000 on a  1911 next month.
