I have had good luck with CFE.  No problems to speak of.

Used it. Liked it. Can't remember recipe details though. It's been a while since I played with .223.

I used it for 55 gr FMJ loads back when TAC was hard to find.  Made and shot several thousand rounds.  Good powder.  I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Looking back at my notes... I used 27.7gr CFE with CCI standard SRPs for a MV = 3087 fps out of a 16" AR.  For comparison, Factory Federal XM193 chrono'd 3135 that day.

I also have had luck with CFE and 69gr SMKs and 50gr Midsouth Varmint Nightmare bullets.

I don't use it but a lot of guys at the club use it and love it. I am a varget man.

I love it. I’ve burned more than 20 pounds this year. It even pushes heavier bullets pretty well. And it does clean like it claims. I get very little fouling.

Thanks guys. I'm going to load some up when the weather breaks and try my new chronograph.

I don't like it unless using heavier bullets, but if you think it cleans the copper out of your barrel then go for it.

Two of my ARs shoot decent with CFE223 at 27.2 gr and Hornady 55 gr FMJ

That's wonderful but I have a life outside of my reloading room. Powders that need hand trickled or electronically dispensed are definitely not going to be used for high volume plinking ammo.

I may have to try this CFE stuff some time.

I’ve had really good luck with CFE 223 and heavier bullets. I use H335 for the lighter stuff.

I have used cfe223 with 55gr sp. I’ve had pretty good luck with it. A coworker asked how I liked it, and if the “cfe” works. I have no idea about copper fouling being reduced. I don’t shoot enough to tell any difference.  I got around 1 moa groups from my 16” mega 1/8. Not many sub moa, but quite a few 3” - 4” groups at 300 yards. Not too bad for 55gr sp.

This is the load I use. But with either Midway downtown or midsouth vermitnightmare bullets.
Shoots right at MOA or slightly below in two different rifles

26.5 gr CFE223

Remington 7.5

This is an accurate mid range load.  27.8 grains if I feel the need for speed.

I use Hornady 55 GRN FMJ-BT's with 27.4 GRN CFE(work your own load, practice safe procedures)  and I seat at cannelure.

I never had good luck with Lake City 55 GRN pills,  but bought a 6K box of the Hornady's a few years back on the advice of a "good investment" from seasoned members of this forum, and it just so happened to be some of the best advice/investments in my reloading endeavors.
