Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Buffer Size?

Was comparing the end plate in my PXP to that in a SB brace.   The buffer in the brace is less then half the size of the one in my PXP and it is even recessed.   So the bolt would be allowed to travel an inch more with the SB brace set up.   I see both buffers are available at HK parts, so why the different sizes and what would be the effect of the longer bolt travel?
