Simple question, because I’ve never used brake cleaner on a Glock frame. Can you use brake cleaner on a Glock frame and not damage the frame?

ETA - should have listed this to begin with. I looking to spray with the cleaner to prep for a paint job. It will just be a rattle can spray, but I wanted all the oils off, that’s why I asked about the brake clean. I suppose I could use a less harm chemical, but I’ve had success using it on ARs. I just didn’t want to melt my Glock. Lol

Same here, for years.

Use the non-chlorinated brake-cleaner. It's less harmful to plastics than the chlorinated versions -- maybe even not harmful at all.

I was at the parts store today, brake clean is not cheap anymore.

If the goal is to get the spray action to help clean, try compressed air instead. Put some Hoppes in the frame parts. Scrub a little with a tooth brush. Blast clean with compressed air while wiping excess off with a rag. Easy and cheap.
