I just got a bigger gun safe and want to store my semi 1919 in it.

Should it be muzzle up or down?

When I googled it, I got both answers.

I don't think it matters, as long as you protect the end of the muzzle.

I store mine barrel down to keep from possibly breaking off the grip.  Barrel does not protrude from the booster so no risk of damage.

This.  Same as a MG42, you're not going to hurt the barrel.

I have a repo 1919 cover that I got for Christmas a few years ago.

ETA: I was gonna put the short barrel on it, but it fits just fine with the full sized barrel.

I store mine muzzle down in a Bore Store cover.

I had a mount made years ago that can be bolted to a wall and the 1919 can be stored in either direction. It looks like the u joint for the T&E and uses the same cross-bolt.

I just toss it in there muzzle down. It went to war. It’s not going to get damaged in a safe.
