Thats too bad, I thought that blue multicam finish they had was kind of interesting. Somebody on the EE had one NIB for sale. I'm a basic bitch when it comes to guns though. My 870 came factory green, but I just bought it because it was cheap, probably 20 years ago now. |

Sadly, I have to report I don't think this is going to work for me. GG&G's RMR mount is listed as being .25" thick (about the same thickness as the factory picatinny rail), and setting the Meprolight atop the picatinny rail reveals the GRS to be completely blocked, no cowitness at all. I suspect this would work better on the 1301 w/its higher GRS but it doesn't appear to work w/the A300UP. I *really* like how the UP's GRS are 'right there' when I shoulder it, very quick 'on target.' Any RDS I mount is not going to be the same, requiring instead a higher cheek/chin weld. So, for now I'm going to leave it as a KISS setup using the GRS. The Beretta adjustable rear GRS I posted about earlier has worked very well so far, now all I need is a tritium front sight. |

I'm going to see how it looks with the Holosun 407c. If it doest work out I was going to mill a G17 and use the 407c there, and then I'm only out $40 for the GG&G plate. Worst thing that could happen is I keep the sights stock. Oh well. I will say though, the plate is concave on one side, and it doesn't look like it will actually take up .25" of space, as the metal isn't that thick at the peak of the concave, but at the widest it could be .25". If that makes sense. |
Welcome to wherever you are.

My GG&G mount with a Holosun 507C makes a perfect lower 1/3rd cowitness with the A300 UP irons. Not sure about a meprolight. A300UP RMR Mount GG&G. |

I think it will work. I have both the Beretta rail and the GG&G rmr mount. The Beretta rail is .250 tall. The GG&G mount is just a hair under .125 tall. Just a little under 1/8th. The Holosun 507C is just a hair over 5/16ths of a inch. How tall is the back of the meprolight? @Tomac |

What's the consensus as to the aggressive furniture texturing? Obviously, it's no problems w/gloves, and I've noticed no unusual bare hand irritation to date but I *have* noticed light patches where I grip the stock & forend which turns out to be abraded skin cells. I'm not planning on any classes w/the A300UP at this time, but I can see how lots of rds could lead to eventual discomfort. I've read about lightly sanding to reduce the aggressiveness of the texturing, but I don't like to make permanent changes to firearms unless necessary. So, what does the A300UP hive say? |

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy Glock and thy AR15, they comfort me.
| One thing that struck me as odd is the lack of a printed “Owners Manual” with this gun. There is just a notice printed on the cardboard box to go online and download it. That’s what I did, but I am surprised the Lawyers at Beretta USA allow these guns to be sold commercially WITHOUT a hard copy manual provided at the point of sale. I can imagine a personal injury Attorney just jerking-off to this revelation during discovery over a negligent discharge case. |

Just experienced my first malfs w/the A300UP. Took them both to the range this morning (37F) to verify patterns were centered with my fav 1250fps Fiocchi 9p #1 buck (appx 7/8oz). Newer one was 100%, no problems whatsoever. The older one had immediate FTE's (eject). This one was the dirtiest (appx 200rds fired) but had been 100% until now regardless of temp or ammo (including the Fiocchi #1 buck). Put some 1300fps 1oz #8 through it (100%) then 7 more rds of the Fiocchi (also 100%). Don't get me wrong, I'm tickled pink the Berettas have functioned as well as they have to date with such a light Fiocchi load, but I would like to determine the cause so I don't have to relegate the Fiocchi to range use. So, still in the 'break-in' period? Getting too dirty? Fiocchi load too light to depend upon? Temp too cold? Needs more lube? I will be cleaning them both in the near future anyway, but any thoughts? Thx! |

Thx! Kind of odd. I’ve ran a similar load through mine without issue, and you’ve run the exact same load out of your other a300, so we can only assume that something specific to the gun is happening. Disassemble and clean, while keeping an eye out for something out of the ordinary. I’d be checking out the gas system to make sure there’s not excessive fouling in the gas cup, or something to that effect. I’ve run around 500 rounds without cleaning while shooting lower powered target loads, so your situation certainly hasn’t been my personal experience. Good luck. Make sure to post pics of any carnage you find. |

No excessive buildup, no signs of damage or anything unusual, quickly/easily cleaned, lube seemed adequate (but re-lubed anyway). I'll re-test w/the Fiocchi next week sometime, for now I'm chalking it up to a very weak load during the break-in period. |

Update: Cleaned the 'problem' A300UP and ran it out to the range a little while ago. Shot 8 of the 1250fps Fiocchi 9p #1 buck w/o difficulty. Shot some buck & birdshot then another 8rds of the Fiocchi w/o difficulty. For now, I'm thinking the Fiocchi load is right on the edge for reliablity w/the Ultima Patrol. I'll run this one another couple of hundred rds then test the Fiocchi again to see if further break-in helps or if it chokes again when the shotgun gets dirty enough. However, I'm no longer loading the Fiocchi for HD until I've proven its reliability to my satisfaction. |

Ran to the range a little while ago to test one of my A300UP's w/the light Fiocchi load again and after my 'Casual Curiosity Question: LOP' thread, thought I'd experiment a little myself. I've been using a Limbsaver w/its 13.5" LOP on the A300UP and it does a good job of perceived recoil reduction and LOP seemed 'okay.' So, I reinstalled the factory buttpad/13" LOP and gave that a try w/birdshot, the Fiocchi 1250fps 9p #1 buck and some Rio 1345fps 12p #1 buck (all were 100% I wore a t-shit w/a thin (no padding) leather jacket during the testing and bottom line is I don't find the recoil uncomfortable at all. I might change my tune if I took a class and had to do a couple of hundred buck loads in a day, but for now I find the 13" LOP faster on-target than the 13.5" LOP. |

I discovered the same thoughts after trying the Limbsaver pad. Was pretty surprised the extra .5" made so much difference, for me anyway. Might be a combo of the .5" added length AND the grabiness/tactile effect of the Limbsaver when shouldering, even at half speed. |

Thx! I've shot some of that Fiocchi. It's an incredibly light load. More lubrication and lube that isn't as cold sensitive (please don't use grease...any type. It's not great for guns) can certainly help some, but the bottom line is that the load is just light and it's barely on the margin of operating the gun. It's running 7/8 of an ounce at about 1,200 FPS. It's not much more potent than low recoil low noise loads they use in double barrels to shoot skeet with. Frankly it probably has the identical powder charge since the skeet loads are pushing 1 1/8 ounce of shot. It's just not going to run reliably in a lot of semi autos. A 1301 would have a slightly better shot of running it than the A300UP because of the gas system, but even then I've seen 1301's that run that low of a load better than I expect, but none will run it perfectly. The A300UP is benchmarked around the FFC load which is an ounce at about 1,200 FPS. Go much milder than that and reliability will suffer. |

As counter-intuitive as it may seem, getting the stock shorter helps you get the gun off of delicate pieces of anatomy (like your rotator cuff) and on to more substantial bits that can take much more abuse. (Like your pecs) That's why I try to go for about 12 1/4" as a LOP. I can run that on my pec, not my shoulder. Which is good because my right shoulder has a lot of miles on it. |

I'm going to test some S&B 1200fps 12p #1 buck I have on order. Based upon my experience w/various 1oz 1200fps birdshot (100%) it should function fine while still keeping recoil low. |

Gun won't run with lighter loads . diy lock action open for 2 - 3 day. https://www.beretta.com/content/dam/beretta-usa/user-manuals/Beretta%20USA%20Semiauto%20Manual.pdf page 42 Do not over tighten the two fasteners that attach The barrel clamp to the mag tube. Snug is enough, do not exceed 3 in. lbs +/- 1 in. lb. Over torque of these fasteners could cause damage to the barrel clamp. . Using the 13-mm socket wrench, install the retaining nut to the stock bolt. Tighten to a torque 60 lb-in (7 N•m). The use of a proper torque wrench is recommended. Aggressive grip texture no more than on the 1301 Firing slugs and buck shot through the A300 Patroland 1301 platform can result in lead buildup in the gasoperating system. We recommend cleaning the gascylinder, piston, ring, and barrel after every 200 roundsto ensure reliable function when firing these types ofammunition. See “A300 Patrol Disassembly” page 26or “1301 Tactical Disassembly” page 28 for moreinformation. Your new firearm may require a brief break in period to optimallyfunction with all ammo types. Beretta recommends firingapproximately 50 high brass field loads through the gun toachieve this break in period. Took the advice and locked the bolt back on my 'problem' A300UP for 3 days. Tested another few rds of the Fiocchi 1250fps 9p #1 buck today and it functioned 100%. I'm trusting this load more but I'm going to run this UP dirty for awhile and test this load for reliability again later on down the road. Also took some 320 sandpaper and lightly went over the aggressive texture on the forend and buttstock, just enough to remove the 'I'm squeezing needles into my palms' sensation. ![]() Picked up some S&B 1200fps 12p #1 buck as a possible replacement for my fav Fiocchi load (in case it ends up proving to be unreliable) and while it recoils more (duh, 33% more lead being thrown), it's definitely lighter than the Rio 1345fps 12p #1 buck. I'll pattern test the S&B load when weather permits. |

Doesn't seem like such a reliable or great shotgun to me, then! They're referring to lead projectiles as opposed to plated. I put a ton of lead through mine without issue but it does get really fouled up shooting lead. If you shoot plated it's not a problem. I clean mine every 500-1000 rounds. |

Eternity is coming for us all. It cannot be denied, debated or avoided.
We would do well to ponder how we're going to spend that eternity, because eternity is a long time to be wrong.

Im assuming that the IC and modified will work with slugs? I have 2 TS12 shotguns and slugs aren't an issue with the chokes, figured I would ask. Gonna check out Pro lifter as well Haven't ordered the shotgun yet still doing research thanks to this thread Thanks for the tips |
