How do you guys store your belted 556? Currently besides in nutsacks and drums in 50cal cans, I have loose belts in 30 cal cans and rest in a 50, but it’s messy. Figured I’d see what others are doing, I may have to buy more nutsacks and drums but it’s so expensive to buy a dozen or two dozen nutsacks. Wondering if someone’s 3d printed something to make a 50cal can hold 2 rows tips to middle zig zagged. |

The big MTM crates work well for my rpd drums and nutsacks. I also use them for other stuff because they stack very well. Not as air tight as milsurp ammo cans, but good storage. Loose belts I have in 30cal cans with cardboard spacers I have a handful of the thinner 30cal cans that don't need spacers for 308, so they fit 556 and 762x39 with less cardboard. I even have a cool "pallet" that holds 4 of these cans and all buckles together into one unit. I think it came from Degroat or one of the other minigun guys at knob creek about 20yrs ago. |

I’ll check em out. Currently the ones in 50 cal cans have cardboard separating the 2 rows, but one side has to have 5/6 pieces of cardboard to make everything kinda tight and I just don’t like having cardboard in there since it kinda flies out in the desert in windy days and gets wet, destroyed, etc and then I’m cutting more etc… Anyone with a 3D printer here and good with CAD wanna try making some kind of spacer? I’d buy some lol. |

It’s alright imma just use cardboard or have a thicker piece of plastic cut with a desiccant holder to fit. I’m able to store more ammo if it’s just belted up than in the pork chops. |

I can get 5 100 rnd belts in the tall .30 polymer cans by MTM. An even 500 rnds is good for my OCD. Tall Ammo Cans Attached File Attached File |

Start a tight spiral with the open side of the belt facing inward, and subsequent placement above each like you are making a spiral tower upward after starting the base. Rolls up into basically a straight banana! Thanks! |
