I'll be using Morgan at Class 3 for anything that doesn't need to have a site moved, but what has been the best combination of quality/price for everyone who has had a 10/22 done?  My brother used ADCO and I've heard good things, but just wanted to hear about any other options.  Barrels to I need threaded with sights moved:

Ruger 10/22 Takedown
Ruger MK3 22/45 w/ bull barrel

Thanks for any input!

Texas is a big state, are you in the Houston area? If so, Chris at Aquila Firearms over in La Porte does good work and may be able to tackle those for you. I've used him for an M1A, Mini-14, and some other random rifles. I have also used Morgan for alot of stuff including a Mk III Hunter that needed the site moved back and it is perfect. Is he not taking site moving projects anymore?

Morgan isn't doing sight work anymore.  Said it is too time consuming and he has too many threading projects to do.

I just ordered a new factory threaded barrel for my TD 10/22.  It's backordered, but when I get it, I'll sell the factory barrel.

Sorry, should've mentioned I'm in the DFW area.  Yep, Morgan no longer messes with sights.

That's an option I really didn't think about.  I'll do some looking around.  Where did you get it?

Since you are in DFW...

Try Grumpy's Guns - he's in south Arlington, he did my 22/45 Mk IV and it's been great, hundreds of suppressed rounds and no baffle strikes, good threads.  Pretty sure he can do the 10/22 also, he has a price list.  Turnaround time was about a week but not sure his current volume

ETA: relocating the sites are an additional option

https://grumpysguns.com/

I wouldn't hesitate to use him again

Thanks!  I was actually about to ask about Grumpy's.  Reviews seem to be good on other forums, and the prices aren't bad.  I think I'll probably go with them.

Alot of the Ruger guys in several different forums swear by this guy. Sounds like you have some good resources local to you though but if they are swamped it always good to have options.   Best of luck.

https://shopruger.com/10_22-Takedown-Threaded-Barrel-Stainless/productinfo/90566/

Like I said, backordered at the moment, but looks like factory non-threaded barrels are $150-225 on ebay, so I figured would be cheaper and easier for me to just buy a threaded barrel and sell the original.

Agreed.  The standard 10/22 isn't too difficult to change the barrel and with the take down variant its super easy.  Instead of sending off my factory barrel for threading I just swapped for a threaded KIDD replacement and traded the factory barrel for some other stuff I needed.

Another option in DFW is Bauer Precision.
