Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - BM59E muzzle brake

Can't seem to find any info on whether or not the functioning of my BM59E would be affected if I remove the brake and replace it with a normal Garand
gas cylinder lock. I'd like to switch it out to give it a cleaner look. Any thoughts crowd? TIA.

I don think it matters, on one of m olde rifles I ran it both with the BM brake and a regualr Garand front end as kind of a mag fed tanker garand and it worked fine so Ican't see the E model being any different.
