On one hand, it's a beautiful sight. Knowing what's going to happen to them... horrific.

In memory of the venerable BM59, please post pictures of the rifle.  Either you own or ones you've found. The BM59 is one beautiful rifle!

This is a picture I found on the internet before they're getting chopped up and sold as parts kits.  The condition of these rifles were beautiful. It's very sad we couldn't save them.

What really sucks is that almost all of those recievers for domestic Italian service were US provided under MAP and should technically be allowed re-patriation to the States.  Italy should allow the receivers to return to CMP and then sell the parts kits to an importer...but with the selectors it’s once a “machine gun” always a machine gun like the M14...

No glamour shots, but here is mine next to my Springfield Armory 44 date M1.

It sucks that they’re destroyed. But, parts kits are still a decent consolation prize.

The BM59 is a pretty neat build, and where it uses a modified M1 receiver, there are receivers available(though obviously they have to be machined). I used a drill rifle for mine. Barrels are a little trickier depending on which variant, but they are available as well-if only in spurts. Numrich actually has BM59 parts kits right now, and surprisingly they don’t appear to have gone up in price in the craziness of the last 18 months.

I’ve been a recipient of the nice parts kits. One of the 3 posted here was built from these parts kits. Love the rifle!

I just had a surprise delivery from UPS today... Shuff's was able to bring back to life an old pitted/well worn SA reciver.  Happy to have this old workhorse back in the stable!

Other than Sarco, who has nice kits?

I picked up a few kits from gunpartscorp and each one of them were pretty nice. One stock was a little more beat up than the others, but the metal parts were great!

This is my second BM59 that I have owned, and a personal favorite. BM59E. This one I acquired from a local gun show. Absolute joy to shoot!
