Because of all the new gun laws talk.
Ive only been in the 2A camp for 2 years, so thats most likely whats causing the thought.

Its a rifle i've always wanted and I don't want to run into any difficulty getting one in the future.
Im also behind enemy lines in Massachusetts.

But, how paranoid(stupid) am I being?

It will be a recent production model

Thanks

Don't panic buy.  Just watch for a good deal on one and grab it then.

Watch gundeals on reddit.

Relax.  Save your money

Get it if you want it.

I would grab a SCAR 17 first.

I’d atleast buy enough magazines that when you find one later you’ll have plenty.

You wouldn't be paranoid, if everyone wasn't out to strip you of your Rights.

Not knowing the gun laws of the Peoples Republik of Massachusetts, I would get as many magazines as you can afford (are there preban mags available in Mass?). Then purchase the rifle while you still can. Buy what you can, while you can.

In MA they have to have pre-1994 mags for anything over 10 rounds.  Probably means the SCAR isn’t a good option.

Thats like double the cost. For the only bonus of it being more modern.
Which a stock changeover could fix.
Im sure theres other bonus's as well

Nail on head.
And people love to overcharge the shit out of them.
Unlike when i had my G3 clone where you could get pre bans for under $10

Same goes with AR mags. Found that out the hard way

Less weight and less recoil. Easier to attach optics, lights/lasers and pretty accurate from the factory.

I shoot my SCARs more than my M1A.

You'll like it.  I thought about getting an M1A for awhile - finally got a SOCOM model via PSA for a great deal, and really like it.

The M1A series can get too long and heavy,  but the 16/18" barrel models are easier to handle and use.

I put a red dot on the Scout style scope mount on the handguard, and it's a great shooter.

Both are unnecessary. Use a .45 ACP case or a grease syringe to grease the roller.

Just change out the extractor and firing pin with USGI parts and your good to go.
