Yep, could be done, but if your game plan is to roll refrigerators down range, better done with another type of rifle isntead.
Hence Ruger #1 is the ideal rifle for such, since it gives you time to recover between shots instead. It's not that the 458 has major punch to the shoulder, but that fact that is rolls you so far back on the recoil, really don't want to try to speed shoot that caliber instead.
P.S, why screw around with the 458 mag, when you have the .460 Weatherby Magnum that snap slams into your shoulder faster instead. Hence 458mag will roll you back at recoil, while the .460 Weatherby Magnum just slams the hell out of your shoulder (less rear rolling recoil, and instead like someone just slammed into your shoulder with a sledge hammer isntead).
Trust me 45-120 is a pussy cat compared to the recoil of a .460 Weatherby Magnum. Hence most of the larger nitto's and the 458 win mag just roll you back, while the large big bottle neck mag cases have that sharp snap recoil from the increased speed of the bullets isntead.
