Very few issues with with rifle itself. My main complaints are: The shape/weight of the trigger. It's very heavy and the shape is uncomfortable. He sent me lighter springs and that's an improvement, hopefully the bow gets a comfort enhancement as well. Firing several hundred rounds was actually painful. The gas adjustment knob is very hard to adjust. I would like to see an extended design, or a tool for this purpose. Anti-rotation QD sling socket, that would be great to have up front, and an easily updated part. And finally, not so much a complaint, but a note: heat from firing large volume resulted in diminished accuracy with my optic mounted to the handguard. A&K makes extended rail risers that are out of stock, but hopefully they make another run soon. I see it as a necessity, especially when using magnified optics. |

So far, GB is your best bet for one L85 bayonet. I think within the past 7 years, the bayonet market went insane. I remember the bayonets by itself was asking for 150-175. Now it is 300+. |

Hopefully Brownells won’t f-over A&K with whatever production issues (or lack of interest) are going on with the BRN-180.  I’ve had stock notifications setup for a while and haven’t seen any motion. I jumped in pretty hard on the BRN-4/HK416 and it seems like they’ve gone dry on that too lately. |

Here is my latest build using the A&K AKB-23 dedicated bullpup lower designed to pair with the BRN-180. I made some modification and here are the results. I also have been in contact with the manufacturers about my modifications and they are looking to make the modifications as a standard part of their offerings allowing the use of the BCA bolt action and the Uintah bolt action. I love this lower and it is a better option than what I have done using the Reap or the Triad from my other builds. The picture showing the weight, the barrel is a heavy or bull profile, and it has a heavier hand guard. This would bring the weight below 6 pounds easily. https://imgur.com/a/fCxfN1t |
