So I'm building a gun that will have an A2 flash hider on it and planned to buy a B&T can that mounts to the A2 flash hider.  I've seen comments that if you plan to run a suppressor you should use shims instead of the lock washer.
Is that accurate?  My love of hearing is more than my love of a crush washer authenticity.

Yes you should replace the crush washer with shims. Crush washers often don't crush evenly so there will be some misalignment that could cause a baffle strike if you used one with a suppressor.
