I think it is carpenter's line chalk but that is a guess.

Pretty sure it comes from Cheetos.

I don't remember off the top of my head, but when I get home in a couple weeks I could post the MSDS for you.  I do recall it has Formaldehyde in it, and is actually toxic.

I've read that some guys mix line reel chalk with baby powder to increase the dust cloud.

Used to be able to order "float" and any other components from MAST.
I use regular orange line chalk from Home Depot now.

Nohair had me shoot that exact M79 about 10 times.

It's Robert's M79, but yeah, they're always letting me shoot the thing.  Such awesome.  RIP Eric.

That's a cool pic.  I like the poof of Cheeto dust out the side.

The powder is orange airfloat dye, not chalk. Reloaders can use chalk for reloading, with either baby powder or cab-o-sil added to make it arifloat. Be careful with the cab-o-sil... only use it outdoors and in no wind conditions... for obvious reasons. You can also add it to powdered OC to make that airfloat too. GROG

So, where might one find powdered OC?

Site Try the 16 million stuff at the bottom of the page... Grind crystals to dust, add to cab-o-sil... Wear respirator and gloves when using... There are other places where you can buy powdered OC. Shop around for a good price.
