Good morning fellow firearm enthusiast. I think I’d like to look into adding a 300 blackout bolt action into the mix and not seeing a lot of options.
To me is seems like ruger, savage, cva (leaning this way), or ca. Am I missing anything? Thanks! |

Remington Model 7 AAC as well
Howa Mini I believe has one as well |

I think there’s been a bunch at this point. I bought the Howa but haven’t shot it yet.
Decide on what you want to use for mags or if you want mags at all. The Ruger with AR mags is a cool option if you want capacity. The Howa uses proprietary mags for their mini actions. |

Howa Mini had 300bo removed from offering the year they named it the Gun of the Year at SHOT (those big dummies!)
I'd say NOT the RAR - mine felt more like a $350 rifle than a $550 rifle AND I'm about to send it back for repair - trigger stopped resetting I'm waffling between the CVA Scout single shot, a Solo 300 upper (I have a no-buffer 22lr AR already, so adding a straight pull bolt gun is of interest...) or building up a standard AR pistol upper Then since I got hte 300 for the bullet and load data variety and since I've discovered my Howa Mini in 762x39 shoots 308 bullets really well, I may just not replace it and use the $ for a F1 stamp or something. |

What about some of the Q offerings? I don’t love the company but seems like a cool concept.

I want an Elf Owl in 300 so bad. Sad Howa discontinued it. Perfect little silent gun for critters.

I like the Elf Owl chassis but their price for a built gun is way too high for me. I really wanted one for my Howa but ended up getting a Brownells branded MDT chassis instead.

Left hand bolt on in savage pistol seems less than ideal.

Has some weight to it. Put a bipod on it and a scope. Just have to get to the range to break it in. With my plan to put my suppressor on it, might put a red dot on it to keep weight down. Not sure I like the magazine that came with it. Will find out if it’s good when I get to the range. |

The picture shows a pistol brace. The picture also shows the hinge is moved forward resulting in a smaller folded length. I don't know if they will release it as a braced pistol - which at the moment is problematic. Noveske is not afraid to sell SBR's, so they could plan on going that route-but then why even bother using a brace instead of a collapsible stock. --- I can make an assumption that the color difference is because the upper receiver is steel. If they used an aluminum upper receiver, they could blend it in better and anodize it to match the lower and the barrel shroud. View Quote When you say upper receiver what part are you talking about? I’m pretty sure that’s just a 700 clone in a chassis |

I am just questioning why part of it is black. My first assumption, which could be entirely wrong, is that it could not be anodized to match the other parts (that I am assuming are aluminum).

I've really wanted a Q Mini Fix but just can't justify the cost so I recently built this, Brownells BRN180 lower, 5" Solo300 straight pull upper, haven't shot it yet but I think it'll scratch the itch. For me it had to be short and use AR mags. Its my "we have the Q Mini Fix at home" build.
Attached File Attached File ETA it comes in at 3lb 13oz, I can and might shave a few more oz off by going with a shorter handguard and a Q/Rearden muzzle device vs the tri-lug thats on it right now. Attached File |

I do have to wonder how they compare in terms of accuracy potential though. That's an awesome looking rig. |

Got my PCS 300 BO to the range to break in today. Shot indoor range, max 25 years. Shot my 110 V-Max reloads. After 5 rounds. pretty much cloverleaf on the rest. Can't wait to hit a 100 yard range. The good: so far, great shooter. The bad: the PCS does has some wight. Might go red dot to reduce weight but my sandman s will add weight to it. The magazine SUCKS! Typical Savage magazine crap. Have to research/try other magazines for it. With a left hand bolt, it takes a little to get used to it but right handed folks won't have to remove there trigger hand to load another round. For the price, I think its worth it.

The action is now in a laminated pig of a stock w/a PTG dbm. Handy and versatile, but not as nice to carry. The KS stock is on a featherweight 22" 7-08AI IMO, a sub 6lb rifle (+ scope) with a slender stock just comes to life in the hand. My BIL has a 16" bull barrel 300blk M700 in the Magpul stock. Chunky and clunky in comparison. I have an accurized M7 with 556 bolt face reserved for a 16" 300BLK build. Probably with a Remage barrel. At one point I think Gearhead Works had a M7 chassis referenced on their site, but I don't think it was ever released These two Model 7s, as described above, are within 2 oz of each other. The 7.75 lb, 22" 7-08AI is the heavier of the two, but feels lighter and more lively. A more reasonable scope would drop .5lb and. |
