Can either AA2230 or AA2520 powder be used in 300BO with a 130 gr HP.

Have used AA1680 and WW296 but out now and have some of the other.

Thanks.

Those are too slow for blackout. Accurate/Ramshot is pretty good about listing their full range of useful powders and those two powders have never showed up for any 300 blackout load data.

Nice to be able to use what you have but have had great results with Lil Gun in the 300 blk, Midway has it in stock

Here is a listing of what pops on the Hodgdon site for 300 AAC BO with 130 grain.

CFE BLK
H110
Lil'Gun
Trail Boss
IMR 4227
WIN 296

The ones you mentioned are a stretch, so look for some of the ones above, many of which are currently available.

Add 5744 and 1680 to that list.

Love this reference - filter by bullet weight or powder.  https://shootersreference.com/reloadingdata/300-aac-blackout/

I've been using Shooters World "Blackout" with decent results

Good to hear. I've got 8 pounds of lil Gun that I'm about to start developing a load with for 300blk.

I've primarily used h110 and 1680 in the past with good results.

i found lil gun to have super random fps spikes. i have had great luck with w296/h110, but ive also seen others report they have the same issues with w296/h110. just watch your chrono readings!

hopefully this is cool to link to here, its helped me in the past when i was deciding what powder to use:
https://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=86656

i did a search for those two powders on the first page and it didnt have anything. you may want to search the other pages.

I do have that link book marked.

Thanks all!!!

Guess I will be ordering powder.  Haz mat,  shipping, and tax does add up.  Seems like ordering five pounds helps
with the pricing.

If I could just find more primers (like everyone!).

It is important to note that not all of the listed powders for 300blk will cycle an AR.

They will if the rifle is set up correctly. People are just used to garbage components and thinking tossing together an AR lego kit is going to work without effort.

CFE black is gassy so its good for subs.  H110 will give the fastest velocity.

MP 300 is the best for my loads

I use IMR4227 for supersonic blackout.  I've also used H110.  Obviously A1680 for subs.

One of the two loads I use in my blackout 9" pistol is the speer 130 gr varmint bullet.  I have found it is accurate no matter how you load it.  I tried 3 powders, several OAL, use a light crimp with lee FCD and the difference in

accuracy between best and worst was maybe worth 1/2 inch at 100 yards.  If the 130 you are using is the speer (2005 is the mfr nbr for it i think) you have a great bullet.  Easy to load, and it expands at very slow velocities.

I use starline brass which has less case capacity than anything else, i've read they have made some small changes and increased the case capacity a little recently but all my brass is the old style.  I use Accurate 11FS

for it and get just over 2000 fps, burns clean.  With Vihta N110 I got it up to just over 1900 fps and ran out of case capacity, very accurate, low es, cleanest powder I've ever used.  I use N110 for my subsonic load.

I've tried IMR 4227 briefly, it's just too slow both burn rate and FPS for the 130 speer.  Think it maxed out the spear in mid to upper 1700's fps, memory could be wrong but it was slow.
