Triggers on all '73's are loose, the trigger is separate from the sear, spring only puts pressure on the sear.

If the hammer stays cocked, no problem with the gun.

The Uberti's dovetail slot is not apparently tapered from one side to the other like I have found on every gun I have owned in 60 years, so maybe that's why they use a set screw to hold the front sight (and rear) in place.

Original Winchester front sights have the set screw. For example, this is the front sight of a Winchester 1892 made in 1895.

Pretty cool setup to figure out your front sight height. I got lucky my 1873 out of the box was dead on.

Took the new Uberti to the range today to determine the correct front sight height because the factory front is way too short. So I made this adjustable front blade (see photo) substitute to get a good elevation zero. That worked out to be .483 overall height. Now I know what after market size I need.https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/19411/determinator_front_sight-1826967.jpg

However, I think the trigger return spring broke because the trigger just wiggles back and forth, and it did not do that before.  Luckily, the rifle still fires. Is this a part I can replace myself?

My trigger does that too. I just thought it was because it was old and used. My 73 was born in 1882.
