I'm planning on ordering 2,000 bullets, for general purpose 10mm loads.

Do you guys prefer 180gr or 200gr for 10mm?

These are the two bullets I am deciding between.

180gr

200gr

I'm still waiting on my 10mm dies and caliber conversion kit from Dillon.

Up till now I have been shooting factory 10mm loads, that are loaded pretty mild. I want to load some warmer loads.

I shoot 200 gr HAP at full power & 200 gr XTP for personal defense.  I have more confidence that a jacketed bullet will hold together in max loads.

Looks like most are voting 180gr.

Forget to add, what ever one I go with, I will be loading some defensive versions that replicate the practice loads. Either xtp or gold dot.

180 RNFPs for me.  I use the same bullets in .40 just loaded much milder.

I load mainly 180gr for range ammo, same bullet as that MBC but from SNS Casting.
I just like the SNS coating better.
Have loaded a bunch of 155gr Gold Dots for SD.
Prepping to load 165gr JHP from Zero Bullets (Roze Distribution) because that's all they had in stock.
Zero makes high quality jacketed bullets at affordable prices, comparable to most hard cast coated prices.
If you can catch them in stock, Zero is worth a try.
Plus, free shipping on 1K order.

I like the 180gr FP because I use for 10mm and .40 S&W.

One bullet, two calibers.

I will say, watch your profile because not all 180gr molds are the same and barrel throat, ramp and frame ramps vary in autoloaders.

Took a while to find out what would feed reliably in my Delta and went with that for all of my 10MM loads and 40 S&W loads and set that as my bullet.

180s for me most of the time.

As my 6" 10mm produces more velocities with less muzzle flip than shorter barreled 10mms, I find I use 165grn Gold Dots or X-Treme plated for at the range for the high velocities, 180grn Gold Dots or Hardcast for general 'woods walking' and 200grn Hardcast if I could meet up with a bear.

I load pulled 180 FMJ/JHP from American Reloading pretty much exclusively now, but like dryflash have hedged my bets against availability and acquired a 200 gr SWC mold. Sourcing some wheel weights now.

Not who you quoted, but Blue Dot + 165gr bullet makes for a real nice flash.

Actually a hard cast lead bullet will hold together better and penetrate deeper then the same weight jacketed bullet. A jacketed bullet will generally produce a bigger wound channel. A lot of guys in bear country alternate jacketed and lead bullets in the mag so they have both large wound channels and deep penetrating bone crushing slugs.

Most of my 10mm loads are 200 grain water dropped cast bullets from a 2 hole NOE mold. One cavity drops plain based bullets that I use for sane target ammo and the other hole drops a gas check bullet that gets loaded fairly hot. XTP 200 grain bullets get loaded for some jacketed rounds. If I want to shoot a lighter bullet I have a few .40 pistols that shoot 165 grain jacketed and 175 grain lead rounds so I keep the 10mm bullets heavy. I have collected over 1000 155 grain XTP's from Hornadys bullet rebate deal which might be fun to load in the 10mm as light fast rounds but I have been keeping these as just in case bullets.

I load 180 grn, for 10mm  My personal defense rnds are 200 grn.    I don't load them too hot for plinking or it starts to take the fun out of it.  But I also load 40SW so I just use the same bullets for either that way.
