Glad to see some late October dates getting approved.

Come on 10/31s! I'm more excited for my first can than I was my first SBR.

Yup.  I am not going to believe the 4-6 month time frame the ATF is giving until I see it first hand.  It just sounds like a "CYA" tactic.

I'm less than a month out for mine.  C'mon November!

It was up over 110 days before we hit the period where the shutdown had no forms being submitted for 2 weeks. Expect it to become 4-5 months by March.

The majority are still hitting almost directly on 90 days... And those are after the shutdown...

No shit. Before they started approving post-shutdown forms we were over 90 days.

http://nfatracker.com/TrendGraph.aspx

Look at the graph. You will see a steady increase on e-forms submitted from when e-forms started through the end of September/early October (when the E-Forms got shut down along with the government. After the shutdown you'll see when it resets back down to 90 days. For 2 weeks no one could submit e-forms, so that gave the examiners time to 'catch up' on the pre-shutdown forms - in essence it gave the illusion of faster processing times. Once they got to post-shutdown forms they had made up enough backlog to be at the 90 day mark again. We're already seeing the times increase a day or two at a time again.

Don't fool yourself, the times are going to go up, and they're going to go up even faster. Before the first approved E-Form came back in early November, no one realized that the forms were going to be that much faster. The thinking was that it might shave 1-2 months off since there was no need to process it prior to the "pending" stage. If you look back at some of the threads about e-forms you'll see people swearing that there would be no time saved at all. Once people realized that the forms were coming back in ~3 months, everyone jumped on the E-Form bandwagon.

I would expect late November/early December forms to be at no less than 4-5 months and current forms to be kissing that 6 month estimate.

I'm not so sure this is true. It's not like the examiners were "catching up" on forms during the shutdown, they were furloughed. From a web search it seems like not much of anything was approved during the shutdown. The approvals were over 100 days recently due to all of the holidays and there was also the bad weather. Everything seems to be on track lately.

You're not getting the point. We're not talking about approvals during the shutdown because there were very few. We're talking about the 2 weeks of no submissions that occurred during the shutdown, which allowed them to jump straight from the 10/3 forms (which were at 100+ days) to the 10/19 forms (which were back around 90 days thanks to the two weeks of no submissions)

The bad weather was 1 or 2 days, and we saw that they were still approving those days meaning they were either teleworking or at the office. The holidays were just two days off and based on the approval dates not many examiners were taking extra time off.

Approvals over 100 days for forms from september until the shutdown.
2 weeks of shutdown = no e-forms submitted = effectively sets back the approval time by 2 weeks when jumping from the 10/3 submissions to the 10/19 submissions. That's what got it back down to 90. There have been a shit ton of e-form submissions since the first e-form came back approved in early November, and we're not quite at that point in the timeline yet. Plus, the short approval times has spurred a lot of people to submit extra lowers due to the convenience and short approval times, so e-Form 1s are being submitted at a higher rate than paper Form 1s would have been.  It WILL go back up and it is going to suck hard for those submitting now. I do not expect my early December e-form back until at least April.

The fact is that NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING.  We dont know how many have been submitted since the shutdown and we dont know how long they are going to take in the future (NFA tracker is not a valid source as we dont know the percentage of submitted forms being posted on it).  The fact that they were telling people that approval times were to be expected at 15 months for paper AND efile just shows that they had no idea of any real timeline and just came up with a magic number to cover their ass.

You can predict or expect them to change however you want and I dont doubt that there will be an increase, but until I see a constant change in wait times with submissions, I am going to take their suggested wait times with a grain of salt

Quoted for truth. It was trending 110+ days, until we hit the period where there were no submissions. This allowed the examiners to jump from 10/3 to 10/19, effectively bring them back to 90 days.

Very simple if you've been paying attention at all. Times WILL go up.

None of my 4 have them. I got an ID (leftmost column) plus a Created By and Created Date when I created mine. I got a Permit Number when it went into SUBMITTED/IN PROCESS (either immediately, or after it cleared PENDING RESEARCH status).

I do not have anything under Internal Control Number or Finalized Date for any of them...submitted between 12/24 & 1/28.

As someone who has had 1 efile approved already and two more pending, they really need to focus on the paper forms. There is still stuff from March outstanding and they are approving stuff sent in late October.

The internal control number is a number that you create and enter when you are filling out the form. It would be an internal control number for the user with multiple submitted forms to easily identify what each submission is.

For Example my SBR form submission my internal control number reads: SBR.
