Scott @ THSF just let me know he has two approved from the first day (12/23/21). I added it to the sticky, but I know some people will want to discuss it. Use this thread instead of the sticky.

…and you can absolutely bet I’m gonna be twitchy every time my phone vibrates going forward. He filed one for me first thing that morning, before the two that just got approved. Mine were for a trust, but I don’t know if that’s the reason it wasn’t approved first. Prints for mine and those two were all mailed at the same time, as the system he used didn’t get the correct format for another week or so. I also have two more that were efiled, this time with prints submitted electronically, on 2/19/22. So I’ll be interested to see if they get approved with the first one…or how the wait differs between the first one and the second two.

|
My body is ready…but alas…with a 1/20 certification date, I’ll be lucky for a late April approval.
|
|
Fingers crossed that a 1/12/22 trust submission will bear similar fruit in approval time.

Follow-up text:
Ok. We have 6 approved so far. 2 trust and 4 individual. From Dec 23 and 24. |

I hope it's not just a few for the sake of statistics or data.
While I'll be thrilled if they start coming in, my wallet isn't ready. |

did the transferree get emailed the approved eform 4 as well? or just to the dealer?

Quoted: did the transferree get emailed the approved eform 4 as well? or just to the dealer? View Quote I asked Scott (THSF) that earlier, as I assumed they would but wanted to know for sure. He says the customer also got an email. The answer I don’t have is if it also showed up in the customers eforms account. Maybe one of the ones that have an approval can answer that one for me. |

I have a MG on the way to my dealer right now via form 3. Hopefully I will be posting an eform approval within the next 3 months. Glad to see approvals are happening.

It would be great to see 90 day approvals. All that said, the flood of properly filed eform 4s didn't start happening until Mid January, so things are probably going to slow down once that point in time is reached.

I have a couple submitted on 1/4, this is good news to see them starting to come back.

Man this is great news no doubt. My Rugged Obsidian 9 was certified / submitted 02/20/2022. I'm not holding my breath by any means, but if it comes in at a reasonable time frame I'd be happy.
The last paper form 4 (Turbo-K) took 11 months (03-21 to 02-22.) That was a shock to say the least. All my previous cans were a fairly reasonable time-frame.. We shall see. Watching this thread NO DOUBT. Thanks all |

The first few weeks were probably low volume with people trying to figure it out, and initial software and website issues, but those who had it nailed from day one are getting rewarded, which is good. Most of the bugs were worked out by mid January, plus SS got their full auto software going, which probably resulted in a massive increase in submissions in the second half of January. But, all in all it’s a positive sign. |

I have one through Hanson submitted 1/21. So maybe in another month or two.

Any chance they will batch approve the outstanding paper F4s if you've got an Efile pending as well??

Quoted: Did you use a trust? I'm curious if the ones that are approved were all to individuals or had some that used trusts as well. View Quote They were not all individuals. I filed as a trust, but included the same 24-month exemption notice I’ve used with my electronic F1s…and it’s never caused a problem. Ought to be quicker because nobody has to even look at the trust documents. |

I sent an email yesterday just asking if there was a problem. Much to my surprise, I got an answer already:
Sir, I see no issues glaring issues with yours, I did not review the entire forms, but fingerprint cards were received. We can’t reply about specifics of other people’s forms being approved before yours but there could be only a couple of reasons for that, most likely a law enforcement officer or an active-duty military person’s forms were expedited. Those are the only two reasons we allow expedite and that could explain why those were approved before yours. I replied: Ok, but I know that’s not the case with these. Mine was the very first one he submitted. He sent me this text earlier today: “Couple more approved from 23rd and 24th. Yours is now the only one from 23rd not approved for some reason.” None of his are military expedites or anything LEO related. I have seen a couple of those special situations reported, and have no problem at all with that happening. Just seems really weird that mine got skipped somehow. Glad to know the FP cards were received. And almost immediately got another reply… Well, I don’t know what else to say but that different examiners get assigned different groups of forms so maybe the examiner that was assigned yours just hasn’t gotten to it yet. So I’ll just wait…and hope they approve all three. |

Did you submit your question via the Ask the Experts link?
@BigWaylon |

For my own curiosity…
If anybody gets an approval (customer or dealer) and that person has other pending eF4s (not worried about paper forms, or even eF1s), post up if they were all approved, or if some are still pending. |

Quoted: Did you submit your question via the Ask the Experts link? View Quote Nope. Sent email to [email protected] instead. |

View Quote Thanks. I still haven't gotten reply to a question I sent via the Ask the Experts link a few weeks ago. |

Any come back with uploaded prints yet? All I’ve seen so far seem to be mailed in prints. I wonder if there are problems with the digital prints.

I know THSF didn’t submit any prints electronically for a week or so. Their system was capable of the correct file type, but nobody could get a straight answer from the ATF on what needed to be included in the file. Once that was done, the company made a software update. My first one had prints mailed, but the two in Feb were submitted electronically. I’ve sent him a text to see if he had any approved, but I’m thinking not so far. ETA: confirmed he hasn’t had any approved with uploaded prints; he started submitting them electronically on 12/28/21 |

Saw a mention in another thread that the dealer didn’t get an email notifying them of an approval, but happened to notice it in their eForms account. I just checked with THSF and Scott said he’s gotten emails for all of theirs so far, as did the customer in each case.
@RyanEsstac - as info |

Can the transferee see the submitted/pending forms on their ATF dashboard? My dealer submitted a EF4 on 5 January that I certified in person. I just checked my Eforms for the first time since and the form 4 isn’t on there. I guess I figured it would be

So are all these approvals coming back only individuals? I haven't seen any with trusts being mentioned.

Well, this is officially the first time I'm mad I didn't wait to buy that suppressor back in august. 7 months and counting for the snail mail way.

After reading BWs email, it inspired me to send my own quick email.
I asked if there were any chance of them batching efile and paper F4s. I also made sure to give them my control number of the efile and item SN of my paper submission. Worst case they say no, best case they link them and I get them a bit sooner. Ya ya, I know... but I still buy lottery tickets too. |
|
THSF had their first eForm 4 Disapproved. Reason was beneficiary missing from trust. Nevermind the customer has eight approved paper forms using the same trust. That’s gotta be frustrating. Wonder if the ATF screwed it up on the new one, or if the trust actually has a problem?
