I tried the Evo sights on mine with the skeleton stock and a low mounted optic. It's a lower 1/3rd cowitness but they obscure the sight picture a little more than I would like. I'm gonna eventually spring for Troys. If anyone wants a set of Evo sights, hit me up. |

The BUIS on the BREN 805 I have are a HUGE pain to deploy, but are pretty damn tough and did the job for me just fine while I was getting an RDS. I'm fine with them, but I have only the experience with them, nowhere else do I have a long gun with back up iron sights. The other ones are irons only!

Yeah in your situation...having a low-quality red dot...rapid BUIS might make more sense...in a way...however I'd tell you to sell the TRS32...and get a Blitzkreig Chevron Front Sight post Link and just run keep the factory, robust-tank BUIS deployed full time until you can get a nicer RDS. In my opinion...having the TRS32 on a range gun is fine...but if your BREN is part of your home defense load...that optic is more of a liability than anything. Bushnell probably has maybe $10 cost in that optic...if that...Just my 2 cents. Shot...you dont have to spend huge amounts...I've got used aimpoints when I was strapped for cash for under $200 at times. |

I don't recall seeing this answered anywhere in this thread...
How do I mount my direct thread supressor on the 14x1LH threaded barrel? I have a SiCo Omega with an aftermarket 14x1LH direct thread adapter. I know not to use crush washers, but the Bren has some sort of nut, then a crush washer and finally the flash hider/brake. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

I got mine yesterday. I'd handled it before, so nothing came as a real surprise, but after messing with it for a while, I've definitely noticed the weight. Trying to figure out where/how to position the Aimpoint (ACO) so that the mount screw and the charging handle don't interfere with one another. The factory irons are nice, the white dots were an unexpected touch I never noticed. They're way too tall though. This thing needs some Troy Micros or HK416 sights or something. The model I handled had the low style scorpion sights. Will likely be throwing those up in the EE. Having trouble figuring out where to put the flashlight also. I normally use TD offset mounts, but it doesn't do too well on the top rail space-wise. Might have to use a ring mount on the right side and add a rail over there. I currently have a Maxim PDW brace on it but I'm not quite sure I like that option. Debating between the Shockwave blade (seems the most durable) and the SBT805 folder (looks nice, but it seems flimsier) |

| I've had my Bren for a few days now. With everyone bitching about the weight, I was quite surprised when I picked mine up and realized it's a little unbalanced but the weight is a real non issue. Also, to those complaining about deploying the BUIS, you realize they flip up without depressing the button? The ones on my rifle are very easy to deploy and lock up solid. |

I think the gun feels very well balanced. As for the charging handle, either mount the optic farther back or flip the mount around. I have a ADM low mount for my T-1 flipped around and I've never scraped a knuckle. |

So far I like it. Little heavy, but I'll trade weight for durability, and this gun exudes that. I'll have to invest in a side rail to allow a light mount, and a canted charging handle to clear the scope mount, otherwise it's pretty much set. I paid $1143 shipped from Buds Attached File |
