Hi folks,

I built a 300 blackout pistol 8 inch barrel. I plan to run suppressed and unsupressed. I was looking at optics for this gun. The obvious is the Eotech but the complaints of a blurry reticle have me not interested for an optic that is $500.

So I started looking at some other options I saw Sig Sauer makes a prism scope in 3x and 5x for the 300 blackout. I've never used a prism scope before but the Bravo3 and Bravo5 seem to have good reviews. I also dont want to be accused of making a SBR so I'm slightly concerned with the magnification factor for a pistol.
Any comments recommendations?

I was running on a Primary Arms 2X GLX (only a couple of months) until I gave up on 300 BLK this year. Prior to that, I ran red dots. Worked fine for me up to 300 yards.

TA33 ACOG with BDC, no contest. The BDC is for SUBs out to 50 and 100. Supers out to 600 that I have used out to 400.

I have a T2 on mine. Simple, light and durable. The MRO would be a good choice as well.

The reticle on an EOTech is a laser projected into a bunch of dots that form the reticle.
When I first got mine I didn't like it until I started shooting with both eyes open then I didn't even notice the individual dots.
They sell a 300 blk reticle version of the EOTech too.
So on the cheap end, I would go for a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 or 5 XDR (better).
On the quality end, either EOTech or Aimpoint.

I have a Strike fire on mine. The 4 moa dot is easier for my old eyes to pick up.

My son has a Romeo 5 and it's a good optic, however, my preference for an optic in that price range would be the Primary Arms Advanced SLx Red Dot with the rotary knob.
They have a 50,000 hour battery life and a true lifetime warranty for whoever owns it.  The romeo 5 warranty doesn't compare and neither does the battery life.

I started out with a red dot (Holosun circle dot) on my 8.3" 300 blk pistol.  My first trip to an unknown distance range (steel plates between 200 and 600 yards) pushed me to get a Primary Arms GLX 2x.  The red dot did the job, but I think the 300 blk has so much more drop than the 5.56 that the effectiveness of a single aiming point is compromised in terms of effective range.

I haven't gone back to that range since I got the GLX, but I think it will give me some good aiming reference points when I stretch out the distance to target.

I have the Holosun 503G-ACSS and zero at 20 for Subs (it's a night gun primarily). According to Strelock (haven't confirmed) if I put the bottom dot on top of a silhouettes head at 230yds with 200gr Magtech's (.56 BC), it'll strike center mass. 10.5" Barrel, 1040fps Chrono'd by me. All academic right now, but what I'm going with until something better pops up.

Holosun 510C is a red dot reflex sight. Reflex sights are common place on pistols now a days. Granted they are usually smaller in size than the 510 C. It should take care of your pistol optic concerns and is a quality unit.
