How can you call this a poor man's build? To me those are high end parts that I can't even afford.

You did just fine. Now that you know it's dialed in, toss the supports, be consistent with ammunition, and start working on technique. Sometimes it just takes a while. No chugging coffee before firing, etc. Once you get in the zone, you"ll know where it is and do well. Enjoy.
