hello;

mil-spec trigger has an 8 pound trigger pull.  got parts from a local gun store. replaced trigger springs with jp replacement trigger springs and trigger pull still at 8 pounds.
any suggestions.  jp springs have worked in the past surprised they did not help.

thanks for any input.

The spring strength actually has only a secondary influence on the trigger pull.  The primary influence on the trigger pull is the contact geometry of the sear nose in the hammer notch, how well those surfaces are polished, and the hammer spring.

If you look carefully at the geometry, you'll see that when the trigger is pulled, the sear nose pushes the hammer back against the hammer spring before releasing it.  Altering the contact angles (not recommended) will reduce the amount the hammer is pushed back, and smooth surfaces with slide easier than rough surfaces.
