Thanks for the compliments. I pieced that rifle together from parts I had laying around and some trading with a couple of shooting buddies. The only thing I actually paid for was the flashlight, which was the last thing I obtained ( that's why it's not painted ).
RTUtah, you're right about the paint thing, seems like as soon as you paint a rifle the demon is set free and you prowl around with a can of Krylon in each hand looking for another victim. |

I painted my rifle a month back and I'm debating on what to Krylon next! I think I'll do a Maglite. I want to try a digital camo pattern and it could be a good vict, er, volunteer. |

I finally got my 727 clone finished.
90's era Colt rifle upper w/ modern M4 barrel USGI surplus stock body Colt handguard and A2 grip Molyresin refininshed Sabre Defence lower Old Surefire w/ a Chinese ebay mount Aimpoint 2000 on a modified carry-handle mount

I hate my stupid 723 BHD build.   
I just f'd up a new N1 colt stock, trying to get a freaking cheek piece riser off the stock, to put it on a more beat up stock to match the rest of the gun, SO......!!!!!!!!!

Man, that is a bummer. I gave away my other N1 stock body or I'd send it to you. You know I STILL haven't shot that upper you sold me? Too busy lately. Hope things work out for you man. What are the specs on the 723? Which way are you going - M4 or regular barrel? C7 upper or 603?

If anything, I might go for one of the new 9000s that are still supported under warranty - but I'm working on a 727 that's going to be based on the "sniper CAR15" that we've seen in a couple of the photos: 
I'd like to eventually try the Aimpoint thing again, but we'll see!

Here's where I'm at with this. It was really intended to be a 1989-1991 Era 727, ultimately with a FSB pocket cut on a Bushmaster VMATCH rifle-length float tube. The reflex can coming from under the tube reminds me of an MP5SD in that configuration. I'll have to dig through some duffle bags to find some more period-correct gear. I used bake-on NIC Industries Cerakote, for a permanent protective finish.

Still looks to clean, I need a barrel mount/light and Aimpoint 1000. I have a few exp slings. |
