I sent a AR upper that needed the FSB replaced . Not only was it excellent work, I
literally had it back in a week, sent from Louisiana to Illinois.
If you need work done on your AR he's the man.

Yes sir!

JT does fine work,  for a good price and in a very timely fashion!

The pin and weld job he did for me last summer;

I didn’t realize they were carrying those, I do wish the shoulder edge of the pin was thinned out vs looking like the center was drilled out, but beggers can’t be choosers....

Yep, happy customer many times over with JT. He is swamped with work, yet still turns jobs around in a week or less.

I finally found a pencil carbine barrel for the wife's carbine and sent it to JT last friday. He got it monday, mounted the original Colt Commando front sight post, barrel nut, handguard retainer, and shipped it back on the same day! I got it this afternoon and it looks awesome! Can't wait to send him the second barrel I got, if I can ever make up my mind what configuration I want...
Major Kudos to JT!!!

@getchasum
I'm going to go double check, but I am 99% sure it simply the standard pins that Geissele ships with. I am pretty sure I threw a G trigger in there

So there you have it, G triggers come standard with retro dimples

My Larue trigger came with dimpled pins also. I have already reached out to them to see if they would sale the pins individually but it was a no go.

Just got this upper back today. XM177E1 to go with the E2 he put together. HE SHIPPED MY UPPER BACK THE SAME DAY.

Can't wait to get it out and sighted in.

I really need to piece one together. One of my favorite configurations.

Enjoy it.

I'd love to hear how it shoots. I've got a pencil barrel, Colt Commando front sight post, just trying to figure out which way I want to go; E1, E2....
I've got a lower that will work, I'm on the waiting list for a Nodak upper, and the rest of the parts I have. Always liked the E1, but the E2 seems more iconic. Too many options man!!

Another satisfied customer of John Thomas / Retro Arms Works.  Two local gunsmiths who are very well-regarded and do great work both declined to drill and pin a used Colt FSB to a virgin barrel out of concern that the work would not be done up to their standards, or would have to charge too many hours to get it done right.

John Thomas had the work completed and everything shipped back to me within two hours after it was delivered to him, and the work was done perfectly.

Do not hesitate to send your work to JT!

At least your two local guys were honest about something outside their wheelhouse! So much better than the horror stories that pop up here on occasion!
