Thanks for posting, I'll do some experimenting with my Rave/Atrius combos tomorrow and see if I can reproduce it. Just one last thing... the spring on your Atrius isn't binding against the trigger, is it? Bunching up and inducing clearance problems? I would say no but I can mess with it. Problem with mil spec triggers, is that the Atrius cam is too big for them. You need to grind the tail of the trigger to avoid lever breakage. Do you have a second Atrius you could try? I'd be happy to mail you one of mine, just to see if it happens to be a problem with your specific selector. |

I have an old adjustable trip from bore buddy and that seems to work as expected. Works great actually. The atrius trip does not work. Interesting. Atrius trip on right and adjustable trip left. https://imgur.com/a/dhAR8pp Edit. Showed BB what was happening here and they confirmed there were some issues like this and I’m sending it back for a replacement. If that’s all it is I’ll be happy. |

I can see where you're coming from, 'cause I know where you've been and I can see where you're going 'cause I can see the direction you're headed in. I just don't know where the hell you're at right now.

Now, with new to me information, I'll guess it's possible to get it to run. |

Out of curiosity I tried my dedicated 22lr CMMG 16” upper on my 5.56 lower with the Partisan in it. Could not get it to run reliably. The same upper runs well with the CMMG lower that it came on which has a Rare Breed FRT installed. I know this isn’t your exact question but wanted to post my experience with them anyways. |

Update on this, they finally sent me a replacement trip (mind you I purchased the non working one new from site and took several long emails to get anywhere with support…) and it works flawlessly. No “wall” and everything cycles good. I don’t appreciate being a guinea pig for this company, this is like the umpteenth time a trip has had tolerance issues. Up side I now have polished my ramps, and hammer and now have a working trip. Will take to the range to test but dry fire it works as expected and function test all passes. |

| I have a 4.5" RTB 22lr upper with CMMG trip kit and installed the HTSS. In semi auto it works great but is inconsistent and or finicky when in the SS position. Almost like the trigger is binary. However, when the upper is installed on a FA lower it sings. What am I missing to get this combo to run? |

What else am I looking to need other than mags and ammo? I definitely recommend the plug for the buffer tube to keep pressure on the rear of the kit. You can 3d print one or buy it. I would look at the FRT firing pin they sell, and potentially the recoil spring set as well. You could need both or neither, but they aren't expensive and it saves you from constant orders to bore buddy like I ended up doing... |

Here is what is working RTB 9" dedicated .22 LR. Anderson upper. Anderson lower, SBRed. Schmid Match Nickel PTFE single stage trigger. JP Enterprises yellow, reduced power trigger and hammer springs. CMMG bolt carrier group with Bore Buddy extractor and firing pin, but CMMG standard springs, including the recoil spring. Hoffman trigger kicker. BB Hoffman trigger kicker kit. BB stainless steel weight sled with 2 large SS weights and 2 small SS weights. BB trigger trip as it comes from the box, no adjustment made. Winchester 40 gr. Power Point copper plated ammo at 1280 fps. Sylvan folding stock adapter. Custom made bolt carrier plunger (Paladin Machine Shop Service, made out of Delrin). Standard CAR buffer and spring. I have not gotten it to function 100% yet with 40 gr. Mini-Mag 40 gr. segmented ammunition but have not tried it yet with the reduced power hammer spring. |

Originally Posted By FreefallRet: Nice, Yea gonna start with a RTB 16" upper and have the Hoffman trigger kicker equipped lower already. Do I need to buy the complete BB trigger kicker kit? For $300 does it include all those parts? The BB Hoffman TK kit does not include the trigger, the Trigger Kicker, or the CMMG/RTB bolt carrier group. It does include the bolt pressure plug for a standard CAR setup or fixed stock setup but NOT for any folding stock setup nor one fitted with a Pic rail Receiver End rail adapter. It only includes the parts listed on BB's Hoffman TK kit, including firing pin, a couple of firing pin springs of different weights, 3 recoil springs of different weights, the extractor and three different extractor spring weights. It includes an aluminum and stainless steel weight sled with stainless steel and aluminum weights but not any Tungsten weights. IMO do NOT buy the lead weights because several have complained that they mushroom and get stuck in the weight sleds. Of course, the kit also includes the trip and apparently it is set up for use with the Hoffman TK with a mil-spec type single stage trigger, such as the Schmid. The kit price is pretty steep but it does give you everything to get your rifle set up to run correctly, at least that has been my experience so far. I had two small Tungsten weights but they did not bring anything to the party. Do you need everything in the kit? Not sure, but IMO it is better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them, which would mean you'd have to place another order for the parts you don't have and pay extra shipping. If you add up the prices of everything you get in the kit, the total price is well above the $305 of the kit price, so I decided to bite the bullet and just order the kit, even though I already had several of the parts such as the CH handle fill piece, pressure plug which I did not need since I used the custom made folding stock adapter pressure plug and the Tungsten small weights, which I ended up not using. DO read the set up guides on Bore Buddy's web site. According to them, 16" barrels are easy to set up. While the 9" was not hard, it did take quite a bit of fiddling with the weights and then replacing the hammer spring with the reduced power spring before it ran perfectly with the 40 gr. Winchester Power Point ammo at 1280 fps. I am still tinkering to get it to work properly with the CCI Mini-Mag 40 gr. fracturing ammo at 1235 fps. FPS are box listed, not what I actually measured, especially out of a 9 inch barrel. |

So I gave up on the Trigger Kicker setup. I now have two different lowers that will work with this upper. A SS equipped lower with kaw valley reduced power trigger spring kit and BB pressure plug. The upper is a BB 7" barrel, cmmg bolt with standard spring but I added the BB superStrike titanium firing pin. BB steel weight sled with one large one small tungsten weights, one small SS weight and one large aluminum weight. BB SS adjustable trip. So far it has been 100% reliable with SV CCI and Winchester Super suppressed 45gr subsonic. The second lower is an Arc-Fire equipped lower and BB reduced power hammer spring with the same upper just with the BB Arc-Fire trip. It also has been 100% with SV CCI and Winchester Super suppressed 45gr subsonic. ![]() ![]() |

Finally got a chance to really put some rounds through my 22 setup today. Shot 350 rounds and it was 100% with the Winchester 45gr super suppressed ammo. It had a few one shot then dead trigger with the CCI SV 40 gr. About 4 or five. I shot 200 of the Win, and 150 CCI. The CCI was all fired after the Winchester so the gun was starting to get a little dirty. That may have helped cause the CCI issues? I'll clean it up and just run the CCI next time. |
