Has anyone used Vibra-tite VC-3 on clamping screws for installing handguard? I see blue loctite mentioned a lot, but was wondering if vibra-tite vc-3 can be used instead.

Yes, I've used it before.  Never had any issues.

It is great stuff - I use it at work over blue locktite.  It's only good up to 165 degrees, so your hand guard may get hotter than that if you do sustained fire.  Causal shooting you should be okay.  Worse case, you apply it, it comes loose, you move up to a higher temp product.

I thought VC3 was used for bedding the handguard to the bbl nut. At least that's what Midwest Industries told me to use it for. Then use blue locktite 242 on the mounting screws.
