I built this up from Colt parts; was just wondering if Colt ever actually let a few go with SP1 lowers during the transition?

If they didnt they should have. Don't you wish they would have left the selector stop bumps on?

Almost absolutely. Beautiful carbine, btw.
My Sporter Match HBAR is full on A2 everything except for the SP1 lower with an SP serial number. So a few carbine like yours is definitely a possibility. |

No. In fact the first SP2's had slickside SP1 uppers until they used them all up.

Gun show examples show up around here now and then similar to OP's, though generally with fiberlite, round fa, 1:7, delta ring, and a-2 fh w/crush instead of split lock. Enough to cause suspicion that some got out.
Major lust over those pics. Very sanitary weapon. |
