Found these are in stock both in the raw and anodized. Any good? Wanting to do a retro "Heat" SBR build and decided I want a real A2 upper versus a flat top with attached carry handle.
EDIT: Their rear sight is loose, out of spect Chinese crap. They ignored my email asking to return or exchange it. Upper seems good so far. Just go in knowing that they are hit and miss on C/S. |

Heat uppers were not A2 types, just sayin...
Attached File Attached File Well... I guess Colt called them an "A2 with field sights", but today they're typically called a C7 upper - an A1 style upper with the deflector bump added. H&R says they will have some at some point, but not available yet. |

[#2]
As noted above, Heat used C7 uppers.
in regards to the original question, there is a link over in the A2 sub forum about them. All have been positive. I like the two I have used just fine. page 1, start at post 25. https://www.ar15.com/forums/AR-15/A2-upper-receiver/127-774301/ |

I'm not a purist at all or in to chasing details. My reference to the movie was mainly in jest and to give some sort of visual as to overall size. I just like the old school A2 and their iron sights. I could care less about details. It will have a Dead Air Keymo flash hider on it for suppressor use and get mated to whatever SBR lower I happen to take out that day. |

Quoted: My A2 upper came today. Extremely well packaged. Pretty good match to my H&R (PSA) lower. But there is some wiggle. My only complaint is the A2 rear sight looks like Chinese junk. And I had to stretch one of the ball detent springs, as the ball protruded too far into the hole to get the elevation disc to "click" when rotating. Glad I saw this as I just ordered one of these uppers along with the parts necessary to complete it from them. I wouldn’t even have installed that rear sight cuz it looks so bad, lol. I’ll also be returning it for a refund if I receive Chineseum garbage. Woof.
Update 5/19; Upper arrived and appears really nice, but I received the same garbage rear sight. Def pass on the receiver parts from Thunder Tactical. Receiver is a SNUG fit my URR as well, but that not really concerning me. Further edit, two colt BCG’s and an AO precision BCG bind halfway into the receiver. This one’s going back. |

I actually just used a punch to push it into the hole then I used a small (3/32nd) punch to reach in through the roll pin hole from one side and captured the spring with it. I was going to cut a delrin rod to fit but couldn’t find my supply of delrin rod and didn’t want to cut one of the delrin punches from my set.
