Thought I would try a Smith Wesson upper parts kit from Cabelas.

This is a botton view of the port door. Talk about a bow.

It's not out of spec it's just bent.  Port covers are basically a piece of formed sheet-metal. Easy to bend until the pin is in it.
I've had a few come this way, it should bend back fairly easily.

Ive never had any luck at bending a port door back in shape. There is always some warp left.

I have had to adjust almost every one I have ever got  some. None that bad though but they do seem to tweak back in align pretty easy.

I have had worse.  Put the pin in it, you should be just fine.

Also have had some bent ones.  Just bend it back the best you can and install it.

Not uncommon for them to arrive that way.  Just put it on and go shooting.

Blasphemer!

They really are pointless for people that aren't in a sandstorm. Even for the ones that are, I think the need for the ejection port cover is probably overstated.

Hey! You quoted me before I fixed my typos.

Though I guess a lot of guys would think that whole post was a typo.

I blaspheme too since my PSA308 UPPER had one that would shift forward so I just took it off.

1 I've built about 20 or 30 uppers and never had to bend a port door.
2 I won't be buying any more S&W parts after the LPK I bought. I paid about $80 at sportsman's Warehouse. I bought it because I didn't want to wait for it to come in the mail. The bolt stop roll pin was over sized, no way it would go it, luckily I had a spare. Then later I found out the fire control group was recalled. I took the opportunity to put in a drop in trigger.
