Hey guys,
Looking for a Brownells - AR-15/M16/M4 Buttstock Tool

Is basically just a spanner wrench that KAC uses to install and remove their receiver extension nuts. I'd buy it from Brownells but it seems like they are having inventory shortages.

Thank you

You can assemble the barrel to the upper, pin the gas tube to the gas block and ensure the carrier key is properly aligned and barrel nut is hole is aligned, and place it in a padded vise upside down and torque one set screw and mark other with a punch scribe. Its easier to do upside down to get as close to exact center of each set screw in the gas block. You can use a drill press to dimple it just enough for the sets screws.  You'll need high temp thread locker when your done.  Alternate to mark the second dimple: I usually drill the second dimple with the gas block in place.  Its the Geisselle Super Gas Block method.  Then you can mill the pin.  Dont try without a good drill press with a machine base, and use cutting oil with sulphur and go slow.  If the gas block is just set screws I recommend get a block you can drill and pin.  Properly taper pins is the best way and its worth paying to have it done right if you cannot mill it yourself.  With milpsec FSPs and low pro shave FSBs you only need a drill and a taper tool, but you need to time the FSP before you drill and hand taper for the pins.  You only need to get the pins halfway into the barrel: and yes the jig is the way to go if you cannot measure and scribe to get the drill bit started.

I am looking to borrow a gas block pinning jig for a superlative adjustable gas block in .750.

Unless you have the corresponding die wrench, the die will be useless, and a lot of these dies are Chinese and apparently aren't the standard diameter of a lot of the old American ones.  Ask me how I know...

I sure could use an upper receiver lapping tool for one quick use.

Brownells shows this as "out of stock".  Brownells AR Upper Receiver Lapping Tool

I'd be very grateful for the loan, and certainly will pay for shipping both ways!

I'd like it to be a traveling tool as long as it lasts. When you're done, offer it up again.

Wish Id known this thread existed!

I need to install a drop in Lantac trigger into my DDM4V7 (and swap out the safety selector), and I am going to put a Radian trigger on another rifle.

Does anyone have a decent punch set that I can use for this job without damaging anything, and any other tools I may need?

I could use a mat, too.

I am in Nashville.

Those tools are things you should have on hand. Geissele makes a trigger install tool that has a ball head.

Yep that’s it. You don’t need to use a hammer with that tool. Just get you some Mayhew punches to go along with a hammer.

So I’m just now starting my first 80. I have access to mill and just bought my first two lowers. I need a jig, I thought that it would be something I could go with out, but I think I might of bitten off more than I could chew. I started looking into the price and holy freaking cow those are insane for a jig. After I spent the past 4 days finding one that was affordable, I realized that they don’t have them in stock anymore. The only ones I could find are either replacement parts or the 300+ kits.

I’m pretty desperate here any help would be appreciated

Another thing I’ve been considering is just making my own jig. But I don’t have a reference for it so maybe if someone’s willing to spend some time on zoom or FaceTime, I could just pull dimensions and Measurements off of a used one and fabricate one. I run a cnc laser so I could cut out the plates/holes and take it to the mill for the side plate holders.
