Hello all,
I am currently in the process of building an 8” 300 BLK pistol and have a few questions concerning the setup. I would like the gun to be able to be run under nods, but due to the limited rail space a full on laser device with IR laser and illuminator seems impractical. My idea is to get an OTAL, Surefire Scout Vampire, and Unity TAPS switch so I can run the vampire as an IR illuminator and switch the cap to white light if needed. Would this be a practical setup? What are some examples where I would need white light under night vision and fiddling with the Surefire cap would be a hindrance? Any insight is appreciated.

The only thing I'd change on that set up is the IR light.
Arisaka makes one that has a tighter beam and the guy in this video says it's better, so it must be.
But seriously I have the EX IR 250 head and it's quite nice.

So do you have a separate white light?

I just switch out the head to a white light currently.
I might end up getting a white light and IR light on it, but it's already kinda front heavy so I don't know.
