You want a handguard less than 1.4"? To fit over your 1.375" can.

I have a AAC TiRant 9 (1.38" OD) under a Samson Evolution Keymod Rail (1.56" ID) and it barely fits with a keymod rail section for a flashlight mount near the end of the rail. I would suggest a 1.5" ID Rail is the absolute minimum, and with that, you may not be able to have any MLOK accessories on the rail where it overlaps the can.

Some of the 'suppressor' HG's are HUGE and are meant for a rifle-diameter suppressor.
I run a Samson-EVO + Ti-Rant 45M and it looks juuuust right IMO. |

Like the above have stated with aero precision or any BAR type Handguard (seekins, AP and some older primary arms) ... some are slightly thicker than others, but should be at least 1.5 ID

Think mine is the 9" wanted the 7" but OOS for so long and the 9 poped up so bought it.  Attached File |
