Anyone have any tips on getting these two bolts loosened?

Using a T30 and they won't budge...trying to pop the rail off.

Thanks

Are you using an impact gun?

No, don't own one of those.

Just using the bit w/ elbow grease.

Thought about heating up the other side of the bolts, maybe they have some thread locker on there.

A little heat and the proper bit in a Fix It Sticks T handle does the trick for me. Isn’t the max spec like 8 ft-lbs?

Yep. And they don't have pre-applied thread locker if you just order a rail from them based on my sample or 8 rails or so.

ETA: That's not to say they don't use it when assembling complete AR's.

put the upper in a vise and try it.

you should be able to with a little effort, they aren't impacted in there.

get a fat handled bit driver instead of tiny allen wrench if thats what you're using.

wheeler FAT tq wrench and bit driver set have all bits i've needed for wrenching on ARs.

Thanks guys, yea I'm using a fat handled screwdriver that takes the bits...tried heating up the screws with a hairdryer briefly the other day...wouldn't budge using two hands and some choice words. So I gave up on it for now...

Put the bit in a socket with 1/4" drive and use a socket wrench.
