I have Magpul SL1 slings on my AR/M4 clones with collapsing stock and 16” barrel.

Just got a full size AR/M16A2 with 20” barrel and fixed stock. Is the SL1 a good option or does anyone have a better suggestion that would be more in character for that older generation rifle?

Web sling or Eagle Industries 3-point sling.

In the 90’s, Marines used a black nylon version of the M1/M14 web sling... some OD green and cotton slings were used as well.

Army used the simpler silent sling with non-sewn metal tri-glide buckles.

Once OEF hit, a lot of commercial slings started to be used... Spec-Ops was a big one that hit the supply system and stuck around until the later ‘00s. These were also used on M4s
