| Newb here.. first time build. I tend to sweat the small stuff. Perfect example: should I apply lube to my bolt catch pin? Not talking about the bolt catch plunger/ detent, specifically the pin. I already installed it without lube. Then I read somewhere that I should use lube. If I remove the pin and install a new one will it enlarge the pin hole? I have no idea, so I've turned to you guys. School me |

| It might make it slightly easier to install if you put a drop of oil on a roll pin prior to driving it in, but not required. No reason to take it out now that it's in. The pin doesn't move, the bolt catch pivots about it, and you oil that by putting a drop of oil or two at the bolt catch where it pivots between the ears of the lower receiver the pin goes though. |

| I always lube roll pins. Roll pins, by design, are a tad larger in diameter than the holes they are going into, so a light coat of oil only helps when tapping them home. |
