Yes you should. I have a 7.5” 5.56 that I run with a Rugged Radiant. With the can in short configuration, it’s about the same length as the 10.5 with A2 and a hell of a lot quieter. |

I've still got stuck in a box, a 10.5 in. bbl., 5.56x45 upper that I shot always suppressed for somewhere around 5,000 or so rounds before the gas port eroded to the point where it wouldn't cycle. A couple years ago I tried an adjustable gas key and an adjustable gas port but couldn't get it to cycle right. Maybe I'll dig it out and try again next summer. It was my favorite 5.56 upper. i have a 7.5" 5.56 and it's a blast to shoot and very light, big fireballs and loud AF. people get mad when I shoot it at the indoor range with a 3 chamber comp. lol. was thinking about getting a CMMG 22lr conversion for it, it would make a great little backpack gun with a folding brace, for varmint gun when SHTF.. but 7.5" for HD is dumb, even with a can, it'll still be LOUD ! |

Have had one for a lot of years, absolutely hate shooting 5.56 out of it. It's best use is as an occasional range toy with a .22 conversion kit and suppressor. Attached File |

I have been thinking about the same thing. I have 2 10.5's and I am thinking I want a 7-8 in with a direct thread suppressor and with an adjustable gas block to set it up surppresed. Am I stupid? I think it would be pretty handy and even if effectiveness at range is reduced it would be fine for @ 150 yards. I would need a new can for this build as my other cans have homes of their own. Anyone have any first hand experiences with suppressing these? I was looking at Griffin as they have a few with no length and full auto rated. I am thinking that the adjustable gas would allow less gas back to the face as well. |
