Hello,  need some troubleshooting

Finally got out to shoot my new 6mm ARC build

First test was to adjust the Seekins adjustable gas block.

I followed direction from Seekins:  start with adjustment screw 1 turn off all the way in.  Shoot 1 round only in magazine.  Repeat until rifle will lock back on empty magazine…..

1st shot didn’t eject
Adjusted 1/2 turn

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th wouldn’t eject each with additional 1/2 turn.

6th through 12 ejected but still not enough to lock back……ran out of adjustment.

I’m running a rifle length buffer tube, spring and rifle buffer 5.4 oz

Proof research 18” barrel with rifle +1 gas tube

Shooting Hornady factory 108 ELD match

What to try next? Lighter buffer?

Are you POSITIVE the gas block is properly aligned with the gas port ?

It is possible your +1 setup and gas port size is at the ragged edge of function... maybe a lighter recoil spring, and then a lighter rifle length buffer.

How many turns did you actually do ?  It wasn't quite clear to me.

I went until the adjustment screw fell out of the block.  So can’t adjust further

I’m heading home now and I’m going to check to see if  the block is properly aligned

Also. Didn’t see any gas leaks and the gas key on carrier is not loose

Most gas ports are based on a carbine buffer (3 oz.). I would drop the buffer weight. The +1 gas length also lowers port pressure a little.

I recently took apart a completely functional rifle to install an agb.  It didn't run even all the way open.  I put the stock gas block back on, and it's back to running like a top.
Just saying.

Well finally had time to check Gas block and ports

They were all lined up

Going to install a carbine buffer tube and switch to a carbine buffer system.  I had everything in my parts bin including couple standard carbine buffer, an H, and an H2.

Hopefully get out and test it within the week.

The Proof 6 ARC guns I’ve seen run with the H1 buffer.
