I got one and found it's a glorified chamber brush holder. It doesn't do anything an aluminum rod from a kit doesn't do. And don't even buy into their star shaped patches they push either! Real Avid makes some decent shit but unfortunately this isn't one of them!

Not that specifically, but I do have some similar star shaped pads from when I was young and dumb.
I also have the wick style which is much better. I bought those because they cam with a non rotating rod. But at the end of the day I use the standard chamber brush with the non rotating rod. |

You guys are talking this right ? New to this so just making sure , I got one of these from a cleaning kit I got . So from reading I should just use this for the star chamber ? Thanks to both |

Not sure how you're adding your pics. Can't see any of them. However, I know the item you speak of and find it useless. To answer your question - yes it's made to clean the chamber of a rifle and should have instructions on the back of the packaging.

I have not heard the term star chamber since I was in the service.
 Must be marketed for privates that don't know any better and senior NCOs that should know better. B |

I like these much better. They also work good for cleaning the inside of your bolt carrier with the bolt out. I have a chamber brush for scrubbing the caked on stuff but this works well inbetween deep cleans.
