his is a gun fired from rest with a 20" barrel, so I have no need of a floppy, adjustable buttstock that tears whiskers from my face everytime I get a decent cheek weld.

Can I use the spring and buffer from a standard 5.56 A2 kit or is there a variation in the spring and buffer by virtue of it being a 6.5 rather than 5.56?

I can't see any reason that you couldn't, you may have to play with buffer weight a bit, but that would be about the only thing I could think of.

Should work fine with the rifle buffer and spring

I have a rifle buffer on mine with the aluminum spacer removed and all steel weights added. Runs like a champ on my 20" black hole barrel.

I have a 6.5 Grendel built around a 20" Proof Research barrel.  It runs perfect with a standard rifle buffer and spring with a standard gas block.

I went the cheap route and bought an UTG A2 stock from Joe Bob’s. I only had time to run one magazine through my Grendel yesterday, but it ran flawlessly.

It’s my first UTG product purchase. Quite impressed actually. I’ve read that they are putting out some solid stuff now. This stock seems to verify that notion, at least so far. There is no discernible difference in quality or specs between the UTG stock and my OEM A2’s other than the UTG stock being actually black rather than dark gray.

The price was so good I actually sprung for a .308 A2 at the same time for my PSA-10. I haven’t shot it yet with the A2 installed, but the fit, look and feel satisfaction is equal to that with my Grendel rifle. So I am optimistic about this as well.
