Are there any good news stories from people replacing the MK118's KeyMod handguard with the M-LOK system? And/or is it even worth trying to query a gunsmith if a jerry-rig another handguard onto my rifle?

(yes, the latter Q is a deployment good idea fairy)

I'd love to swap over, but between the proprietary system and PWS discontinuing the MK118, I'm feeling a bit up the creek without a paddle.
