Has anyone shot 5.56 PMC X-TAC XP193 55 Grain FMJ M193 Ammo?
I'm looking for accuracy here.

What say ye??

Thanks

Iv never had issues with pmc, it’s as accurate as any other cheap fmj from my experience

Is that the one with the big muzzle flash?

Agree with Buck. During the last shortage some years back, this was one of the first to become available again. Shot reliably for me, but was only as accurate as other “blasting” ammo. I see it’s back below .50/rd at times.  I prefer the 62.

All day long, it's about as accurate as LC M193, maybe a little better.
Don't expect Black Hills accuracy though.

In a Criterion chromeined 1/7 barrel with 223 Wylde chamber it shot 1.5 to 2 MOA in 55 grain form. I was shocked it was that good and on the better half of 55 grain FMJ. It is not Lapua 55 FMJ, but it is a great value if you don't need Lapua brass for reloading.

Surprising, I believe this is one that @molon hasn’t reviewed yet. If I recall, he got about 2.5 - 3.0 MOA with the 62 grain XTAC.

Correct.  I will be posting an evaluation of the Wolf WM193 White Box in the near future.

I have only shot a little bit but remember being pleased by the accuracy, at least compared with other M855 clones. Maybe a hair under 3MOA.

Anything under 3MOA is thrilling for M855.

This isn't the M193, but I had it out with the chrono last weekend if anybody finds this useful.

It's stated to be an m193 analog but it's not M193 spec.

PMC XTAC is fine for plinking in semi with barrels of 11.5" and longer.

I can't get it to run in full auto MK18s (10.3") where American made LC Federal and Winchester ammo run fine.

That's a shame. What brands are true m193 spec?

There is no international standard for 55 grain military ammo, like their is for 62 grain NATO spec ammo.

Not every country uses M4's and their ammo is often made for completely different firearms.

PMC M193 seems milder than American M193.

Some Eastern European M193 can actually be hotter than American M193.

Most all 62 grain green tip ammo is made close to NATO specs, even from non-NATO countries.

The oddest ammo is the Wolf brass case ammo from Taiwan.

It has 223 Remington 55 grain FMJ, which is milder and slower than American M193.

Then it has M193 ammo, that has more chamber pressure, gas port pressure and ejection pattern, but has barely any velocity increase at all and is still quite a bit slower than American M193.

Then it has M855 ammo, which is basically right around NATO specs for velocity.

The Eastern European countries that have joined NATO make NATO spec 62 grain ammo and make their 55 grain ammo just as hot, as they use the same pressure limits for both, often resulting in the 55 grain ammo having higher velocity than American M193 ammo.

Buying international 55 grain military ammo is more of a lottery than 62 grain ammo, that is often, but not always, loaded to NATO specs.

Non-NATO countries and often Asian countries, load their 55 grain ammo milder and / or slower than American M193 ammo.

Some of the newer NATO member countries load 55 grain ammo hotter or faster than American M193 ammo.

XTAC is good stuff, very clean and shinny. It does have an interesting smell when fired I've noticed
Equally accurate to the Federal xm193 I normally shoot, it might even edge it out.  Seems to be very consistent, where the Federal can vary quite a bit with accuracy.
PMC is less hot than Federal, I would say it's very close to Wolf Gold in performance.  I have a 14.5 gunner barrel with the integrated flash hider (lol) that sends out a good muzzle flash with the Federal, the PMC doesn't flash and is lighter recoil.  I like it for shorter barrels at the range because it's less blasty.

That's terrible velocity for a 5.56, barely .223 speed

I shot 1000 of rounds of PMC XTAC 55gr when it was available cheap over the years before the price went up. Good ammo for the price at the time and I had never had any failures with this ammo. I have a few magazines left with this stuff but the price for 5.56X45 is quit high compared what is was back in 2019.
