Stupid Sling Question.
Readying 900+ pages one at a time, and lots of good stuff, but I cannot zero-in on a sling discussion for Mod0, Mo1, Holland. Yes, I know that early Mod0 were issued with Eagle slings, but seldom used. I see many of the Mod0 and Mod1 rifles with either a harness on the A1/2 stock or something that just wraps around (not sure how it holds without the lateral loop around the rear of the buttstock). Question is rather open-ended, but what sling and what connectors (on the stock and the foregrip) are being used ? I cannot find anything consistent with forward sling adapter on Mod0, and mostly seeing forward CQD mounts on the Mod1. If you want to bitch slap me and point me to a page, that is okay, too. |

View Quote The Eagle buttstock adapter looks like this, used for HK type hooks So even if they didn't actually use the Eagle 3 point, you still see those stock adapters a lot. Also the KAC/Uncle Mikes swivel up front on the handguard too. As to other actual slings used, whatever was available from the PX or post stores aren't uncommon per talking to guys, and later on you'd see the VTAC and Vickers/BFG slings as well. Probably some TAB Gear slings in there later on, maybe even the savvy sniper slings. Here's a little photo dump of SPRs and Mod 0s, showing the KAC front swivel and TAS-1 bits being used, including the actual slings: KAC swivel visible: You can see the TAS-1 sling buckle off MSG Morehead on the left, and on the right the buttstock of an SPR is visible with a TAS-1 adapter: TAS-1 visible: TAS-1: Same TAS-1: TAS-1: TAS-1: Seeing a trend here? Here's you something a little different: On to the late Mod 0s! Here's a KAC swivel visible, just like on the early SPR/Mod 0: Here's another using the bipod and stock's sling loops, can't tell what it is. I can dig more, but on Mod 1s you started to see stuff like BFG and VTACs too. |

I'm going nuts. When I was not looking for glass I kept seeing lr/ts for sale. Now that I'm looking, poof gone.
I decided to keep the Holland together instead of robbing it for the mod 0. |
