Forgot to add, it's assembled on an upper that I'll be disassembling tomorrow. All parts are near mint condition. Won't be able to get detailed pics until tomorrow, but for now, I guess, here is my Mk12 Mod 0 clone.

Parts list

PRI Gen II forearm
Douglas/CLE Mk12 barrel
Early? PRI Gasbuster
Full address, but no elevation wheel, PRI FSB
Arms #38 SPR Mod. Sleeve
Arms 40-L rear sight (not kosher?)

Everything else is non-spec parts that I used on it because it was what I had at the time (pre-college)

Sorry for the terrible quality

Was this an MSTN build? Most builds had the non wheel fsb like yours, and the same grips. Upper anodizing looks purplish too.

I built it, Upper is a Larue Stealth. The A2 FH was kind've a placeholder to protect the threads until I got a OPS collar/brake

I bought/traded-for all the parts 5-7 years ago when I was in high school.

Full rail #38 MODS were sold directly from ARMS a few months back for around $200.

The #40L ain't worth shit to someone using that genII.

You could probably get retail price for the FSB.

Wow, thanks.  Never did notice that.  That is the way I received it so it's the way it continued getting put together.  I don't know if the rail it came with was stock but it did not have the lugs and I had to mcgruber some lugs in there and to put the SPR top rail on but when I did the top rail holes did not line up with the lugs.  Good thing carbon fiber is super easy to drill.  I ended up lengthening the holes in the forearm so I could adjust the forearm rail into position to mount the top rail.  I got those holes on top now, thanks gunnut003

Itching to start on a mk12.

What is the cheek weld situation on the mod 0?
Looks like even with slp rings there would be a good height differences?

Cheekweld is fine on mine with ARMS #22M rings, although with the A1 stock I have to stretch my neck forward just a bit. Thinking about switching back to the fiberlite stock for the shorter LOP.

Does that have the cuts for the Ops collar?  I know that I had to order mine directly from WOA and ask that they put that cut in it.

You'll need to go back several pages to confirm but a member here ordered a WOA barrel from Brownells and reported back that it was the correct one.   Don't know what specific number it was on Brownells site though.

I picked up the 18" BA barrel for a mk12 build and it shoots great. I've used federal 50gr hp, 55 fmj bt, and mk262.  Out of an average 5 5 shot groups it has held each weight sub moa. I'm very excited about the groups I was getting with the 50gr hp, best was .4". Can't wait to explode some pdogs, will be bringing the mk12 and a ruger m77 22-250.

I waited too long on the BA 16" and wish I picked one up in time. Did a rifle course with the mk12 and wanted to try it next time with a holland.

For anyone on the fence about BA barrel quality - rest assured they're nice barrels!

Top-o-the page to you.

I missed out too......i was able to hold back even for that killer deal. My rainier arms barrel shoots sub moa if I do my part on bipod/rear bag. It can stay for that. Maybe down the line I can try out a BA.

QUESTION: since the MK12 uses mostly this stuff,  do you guys have copper/powder fouling from the MK262 Ammo? That 77gr OTM BH stuff (500rnds down the pipe) seems to have fouled the front of my barrel to the point where I'm getting overpressure ejector marks on the head of the case. The scuff style marks. But ONLY on the BH cases. 55gr 5.56 ball and .223 is fine. Im in the basement using sweets and i have done the wet patch scrubbing....and im looking at 12 blue patches! Its not ceasing. Any tips? I clean and clean and its just overpressure marks over and over. my CBC 77gr ammo will be here tomorrow and im gonna check that out when I shoot.

BH Mk262 is going to be higher pressure ammo to meet velocity specs.

I use Butch's Bore Shine for my barrel cleaning from dark barrels on old surplus guns to 416SS match barrels.

500rds is not enough to have excessive copper fouling. How often do you strip copper from your barrel?

I have just over 1600rds (xm193, BH, IMI, Hornady 75's & 77's) through my genIII mod0 and I have never stripped the copper from it and it's still sub-MOA.

I've got around 1500 with basic bore snake action and its still holding sub moa. Did you check your chamber area and head spacing?

Question: weight of mk12 mod0, mod1 and Holland upper receivers (no glass or rings). Thought I remembered seeing it earlier but couldn't find it after some digging.

I clean and clean and its just overpressure marks over and over. my CBC 77gr ammo will be here tomorrow and im gonna check that out when I shoot.

500rds is not enough to have excessive copper fouling. How often do you strip copper from your barrel?
I have just over 1600rds (xm193, BH, IMI, Hornady 75's & 77's) through my genIII mod0 and I have never stripped the copper from it and it's still sub-MOA.

Not really copper as in visible, but this is the first time i used sweets on it. I talked with a comp shooter and he said it could be a powder buildup since bh is a different/dirtier? powder. I just checked with a fresh patch and dry barrel with Hoppes no 9 and the patch now comes out light brown and clean, not dark and blackish brown....so most of that crud must be gone. I just wanted to ask to see what others experianced. It does do sub moa tho. it passes my 1.47 field gauge.

Anddd now back to normal MK12 speak :)

I never, ever, ever strip the copper out of a barrel until accuracy starts to degrade.

After a few hundred rounds, I will break out a Dewey rod, and run a few patches of Kroil/Shooter's Choice down the barrel (maybe a few strokes of a brush).

+1 for sure.

For my mk12, I'll run a boresnake with a shot of CLP on it after each session. Maybe clean the chamber & BCG every 500rds or so.

This is pretty much what I do as well.

Same as above. I mostly concern myself with cleaning the BCG and bore, not so much the barrel.

Thx for the input. Guess I been taking care of the barrel too much. I will let it go with just a boresnake for a bit then. Always wondered that.

Watch this guys channel, he explains this way better than I ever could.  I've learned more than I can say by watching his videos.

You might want to get in touch with 'em then. Leupold has never used white etching on the front ring.

Does it say "Leupold" on that ring?

It does say Leupold, the marking on the bell are etched twice in  a circle, says made in USA (U.S.A. * DESIGNED * MACHINED * ASSEMBLED) has a QR code thingy, nothing in the little circle, has a serial number, box and all of its contents (scope covers, manuals, extra .223 caps) look as real as I've ever seen (seen many many Leupolds before at work straight from distributors). But I will call Leupold on Monday to verify. I did some digging up and people have been saying that earlier in 2014 Leupold started using the white etching. I guess we will see.
Leupold will gladly check that serial # for you. Let us know what you find out.

Just got off the phone with Leupold CS...verified the serial number and I have legit scope.

I asked when they started marking the bands in white and the guy told me the Leupold marking dept. started doing it in 2013.

Has anyone used a PSA 18" CHF Stainless Steel A2 Profile 223 Wylde 1:8" Barrel for a mk12 build or is this not a correct barrel?

U need a douglas/Centurion Arms for correct...or a kreiger or compas lake douglas, or a Ballistic Advantage barrel ....allll of which u need to have the proper OPS collar step down and special profile for it to be clone correct. Hollands use a 16" middy with the ops collar....Ballistic Advantage usually has these as well.

if they can make u the profile and ops cut with proper twist, then yes u could use them. I cannot say if anyone in here has a WOA barrel...I'm just a wallflower . your barrel is the heart of it, along with the trigger and optics......choose wisely!

Yes as long as it has the correct profile for the collar/brake.

WOA barrel, yes they are properly contoured. WOA has been the budget option for a long time now combared to the 400+ for a Douglas.

ADCO and Brownells have the WOA barrel (18" SPR rifle gas; 1/7" TR). $10 difference between the two places.

WOA is dead tits acurate

Rainier Match/Ultramatch is another budget option contoured correctly. Also 1:8 twist.  Very accurate in my experience.

Still need a gas buster and an ARMS bipod mount.  This was the most critical component.
