My mini-recce after being painted in Finslayer's garage today. The other one is my KISS rifle. Both have 14.5" barrels, but the recce has a BCM SOCOM upper w/ heavier barrel, and the KISS has a Bushmaster 1:9 chrome M4 tube. Optics are both from Primary Arms, their Gen 2 1-6 ACSS on a Burris PEPR, and latest Mini on a DD mount. |

PFran, I've always loved that rig! And yes, an Elcan qualifies - it's a variable.

This thread is pushing me over the edge to SBR one of my lowers. I want a 12.5", bad I think I'm going to get this done when I get back from hunting. What's the wait time now? p.s. PFran24, that is one sick looking stick.

I'm spoiled now with the magnification that never ends and the clarity/light gathering is stupid. If you get an accupoint, use it as a place holder for the long term Mark 6. I would probably sell a kidney before I'd part with this scope. |

Since I have a "spare" mount, I am dropping one of the TRs onto the MK18 for a range trip this weekend.
The CQBR RECCE cometh 
I hope to take all 4 of these, if we have enough people to go. Should be a great day for short, magnified optic rifles! I have not even TRIED to shoot that MK18 past about 75 yards with that EXPS on there. I can do minute-of-dude out to there, but unless there is just a simple red dot, I don't do much better with my eyes anymore. Shit, I do better with irons than the target reticle at that distance. Hopefully I have time to throw the adjustable gas block on there, and that will make for a good day with that and the 1-4 out past 100 |

Frankly, I really dig their look, but as said, they are just tanks due to the crazy heavy M4A1 RIS II. I snagged another one yet again several months back, but finally feel that the cycle has ended, and that I will be holding onto this one for good. The reason why is because I set it up similar to yours. I put a Mark 6 1-6x on top, and made it a more RECCE/SPR hybrid. That's how they should be run IMO. Some decent magnification on top, and geared more for distance and bench shooting. Some people like to say stuff like hit the gym when others mention how heavy Block II uppers are, but I'm a pretty big and fit guy, and while yes, I can more than handle a Block II for a run and gun rig, there's absolutely no reason why I would opt to when any of my other 14.5s are significantly lighter and handier. |

Yeah, the rifle isnt light. The way you see it in the pic it weighs in at 10.8 pounds. I ran this gun with an SU231 for a long time but loved the look of the Nightforce and Leupold scopes on the Block II guns. I was torn between an ACOG, Elcan or the Vortex RZR. I ended up with the RZR and couldnt be happier. Its heavy but worht the added weight. Ill be taking this one out to 600 yds soon. If it performs like I think it will then Ill be happy with this particular setup. I have an SPR for long range and a Suppressed 10'' SCAR for close in work.  </a>" />
