Here's some more pics and info of the MA479 UltraMount. There's not many photos of it online, so I figure this would be good to add to the URG-I knowledge base, especially since the military is going to be issued them with the SU-294 S-VPS.
This is easily the highest quality mount I've ever owned and it's very lightweight! The cross bolt clamps are massive, so they were able to increase the torque value to 100 inch pounds. At this point the mount might as well be welded to the upper, it isn't going anywhere! I still need to mount a scope and get it to the range, but it's -13 degrees here right now, so that will have to wait.    The S-VPS scopes have a witness mark on the side of the tube, which will line up with a mark on the mount. Mounting the scope is going to be a breeze, no more plum bobs and levels!  |

I had one for a minute, and thought about putting it on the URGi... but I kinda liked the looks of the G mount better, and if I swap it’s going to be for a 1.93 for NODS, and so I can better see over my laser... so I regretfully passed it on.

Somebody mentioned NSN numbers on the charging handles.
I have a few no logo Airborne charging handles, but didn't see any NSN numbers on the body or stem of the charging handles. After I Googled them, I found they are on the back of the T-handle and I hadn't looked there before, but there they are. |
