That is an AAC 51T Blackout

You both are right. It reminded me of Sico because of my Saker suppressor. But I use a couple 51T flash hiders like it for my AUG. To use the Saker cause ACC makes a 51T with the AUGs 13.5x1LH  thread pitch. And Sico has a 51T adapter.

Nice gun.

Does it make sense to build a urgi upper with Aero upper, gov marked mk16 rail, gov marked airborne handle, dd 14.5 gov barrel, geissele super gas block.

I'll put it on a mega lower with dd parts.

Or is it a waste since the upper and lower are incorrect anyways?

At this point, who cares.

I actually came to see if URGi is still a thing to clone?

Damn! I knew you had an awesome collection, but didn't realize you had all that, you got to be one of the few with Block I-III on here! Any plans to round it out with the MK18 Block I-III? That would make one hell of an awesome collection.

I mean I'm not sure why CD edited it. Geissele was showing off a rifle exactly like it at the Great American Outdoor show in the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex. The only difference was the rifle was OD Green anodized and didn't have the Sear.

Wonder if the owner asked him to take it down since geissele files lawsuits?  Something about posting a pic of a rifle that wasn’t supposed to have pics of it on the internet due to nda reasons.

I never understood the whole NDA thing. I'd personally rather drool over shit I can't get my hands on rather than them being this big secret. If I were Geissele I'd want people to see things to get them hyped up and wanting more. Unless there was a way that the item could have been copied by someone else resulting in G losing sales.

With that being sad, I'm sure they aren't quite exactly super happy about the entire MK16 rail testing. I personally purchased two short and two long MK16 rails. I still plan on using them both for builds. For my needs they'll do just fine. I personally wouldn't shoot a rifle that was just dropped 6 feet unless I absolutely had to. And the last thing I'd be trying to aim with is a rail mounted Laser after said drop. But, that is just me and I understand some people may feel differently.

IMHO I'd rather them show progress of making things better. There is a reason things get tested. If you're not trying to make things better through tested and evaluation stagnancy occurs. I love seeing innovation and the progression of things and I think the entire MK16 setup is just that. It is evolving. I liked the idea of the upper receiver have a "U" shaped notch machined into it while the Rail had and Extended "U" tab to sit in the recess of the upper receiver. That right there would eliminate the twisting at the barrel nut. As far as the rail bending? I'm sure the rifle I saw either had an upgrade I didn't see or it was being worked on.

Like I said, I can't blame them for trying to make a better component. As far as the legality issues going on, I can't speak on that because I'm unaware of it. However, some people are serious about NDAs. I wouldn't want things getting out that could potentially be copied before all the proper patents etc were filed.

I am trying to decide between the near clone and the Charlie’s modified clone (Colt upper and Geissele gas block).  I want the Geissele gas block because it seems like a better design and I have no interest in being completely correct.

My question is how well does the anodizing on the Geissele upper match that of the colt lower?  If it’s the same shade as colt then I’ll save the 250 and buy that.  Basically can you tell the difference between the colt upper and the Geissele upper when mounted on a colt lower?

Please save the “it’s a tool” comments.  I don’t care. If I needed to use my rifle as a tool I wouldn’t grab this one.  I have others for that purpose.  Just wondering how well the Geissele upper matches the colt lower and whether or not it would be worth the extra 250 to get the Colt upper.

Thanks
James

@JamesYahaya

I have a near clone that came from Charie's and couldn't tell the difference with a SOCOM lower.

I believe it was shown that the only noticeable difference was while looking at it through night vision.
